Please don't quote him. It forces those that choose to ignore him to read his obsessive works.

Have you ever been standing at a party, and there is one guy who keeps talking loudly about how much he earns ? Then he walks away and the rest of the people glance at each other smirk.

You didn't read his comment that I was responding to. It basically compared the cost of working at SW compared to AT. I guarantee it "cost" more to work at Air Tran for the last 15 years than it's "cost" me at SWA.

Smirk all you want. The truth hurts......

I read it because you quoted it.

No the truth doesn't hurt. You are older and senior to me. I would hope that you make more than me. The difference between us is that I am congratulating you, and you are disparaging me. Based on what I earn.

My parents taught me to not talk about your money in public. They also taught me to drive German cars :D

I am not disparaging anyone. I was refuting a point. It's no secret that a SW career has been worth far more than an AT career since AT has started. Just like a Delta, AA, United etc. career was worth a lot more than a SW career for about 25 years.

It has nothing to do with age or seniority. If you and I started on the same day at our respective airlines (pick any date from the beginning of VJ until the last SW guy was hired), there is no doubt that my career earnings are higher for less work. You know it, and I know it. Evidently, RJ guy doesn't know it. No disparagement, just fact. I was lucky enough to get hired here. That doesn't make me a better person or pilot, just a luckier (well, until 9/27) and better compensated one. Check out APC if you don't believe me.

RJ guy seems to think that SW is in the same league as Gulfstream etc. for some reason. I don't know one person that ever paid a dime to SW for their job, so I have no idea where he gets that from. I don't participate enough here to know who he works for, but I'll bet it "costs" him more to work where he is than if he were at SW.

My parents taught me to not talk about your money in public. They also taught me to drive German cars :D
Money is a big part of our careers, and it's no secret. It's also the subject of a large portion of the threads on ANY pilot forum, lounge, layover etc.

Don't get me started on German cars...... ;) There are 5 cars in my driveway, one of them is German, one Japanese, one Aussie and 2 US. Care to guess which one I hate working on the mo$t, and needs the most work?

you think cause you got hired at swa instead of airtran because you were LUCKY? you dumb pos you weren't lucky! you were better than the other guys who intervied. luck has nothing to do with it! no wonder its so hard for swa pilots to understand how bad this aai thing is, they think they were just luckier than the aai pilots. bs

You believe that, and you call me a "dumb pos"? This entire career is and always has been based on LUCK..... If you don't believe that, then you truly are a dumb pos..... Or just an ignorant guy. Contrary to some of our guys beliefs, we aren't "the best of the best of the best". We just happened to get hired by SW. I could've just as easily been hired by AA, DAL, UAL etc., but it worked out that SW hired me, and it's been a good ride. So far.

This AAI thing is the worst thing to happen to a SW pilot's career since SW started........ See, luck has everything to do with it. I got lucky to get hired at a stable company. The AAI guys got lucky enough to be bought by a stable company. I was unlucky enough to be at the stable company that bought AAI.

All luck. No talent or ability required!

wow, what a troll!!!!!! Just ask the former PanAm, Eastern, Branif and the countless others how lucky they felt to get on with their "dream" ailrline.
It goes without saying that you have to be a professional with perseverance to get by in this industry but when it’s all over said and done, no one survives without luck and timing. We are blue collar workers, slave to other people’s decision making and the flow of the economy.

For everyone else, sorry to state the obvious….

I'm not sure where your animosity is coming from, and I'm not sure why I even bother responding to you...

But....

You've obviously not been around this industry too long. It appears that you are one of the delusional "The best of the best of the best" kind of guys.

You're saying that the guys that got turned down by SW are somehow "inferior" to those that got hired? Every person at the interview was qualified to be there. At that point, you're interview skills are the only thing that mattered, and that has very little to do with anything we do in the cockpit. I can name a bunch of great guys that got turned down here, and also name a bunch of complete aholes that got hired. It all comes down to the luck of the draw. If you believe otherwise, then I feel sorry for you.

There is little rhyme or reason for who gets hired where. I guess the many 500 hour wonders that UAL hired when I couldn't even get an interview were "better" than I? Even though I was vastly more experienced and qualified, I couldn't even get an interview until I hit 7k hours.

I certainly wasn't "good enough" to even interview at DAL (thank God!) since I only have an AS degree, 5 type ratings (current and qualified in the 737) and 10k hours plus (at the time) notwithstanding.

This industry is a crap shoot. No one knows the outcome until they retire.

You stupid POS........
