Been there, seen that. Irritating when you're the only GJ a/c at the airport, but once they're up and running with 20+ jets, you just can't stop them.

That's pretty funny. Ho Jet was supposed to be revenue flying on August 1. Perhaps you would like to update us on the progress of the Bridgeton Bozos?
(For the unfamilar, Bridgeton MO is the corporate HQ for Trans States/Ho Jet.)

As deadlines slip towards '06 Big Daddy UAL must be really pi$$ed.

Calling SkyWest ....

You have to give PCL credit for pluckiness. In the face of overwhelming criticism of his misguided and naive contentions and actions he remains fighting to the end. General Custer would have made him a colonel in his March to conquer the Indians.

I can defiantly learn things as I go along in this industry and your probably right, my comment was very naive. But I will never insult the integrity of working people. My parents busted their ass' to put 2 kids through flight school / college so that we didn't have to put ourselves through. I have nothing but respect for them. I'm sorry that Gjets or Hullas (spelling sorry) is doing the things that he is doing, but I applaud those that do what's right by there families.

"I feel for pilots who are striking in the face of their jobs being slashed and taken away in front of their eyes. I'm sorry people have been furloughed or lost their jobs. But just because you are pissed at your own situation doesn't mean you should screw your brethren. Everybody has to look out for themselves...but sometimes doing that will brand you for life. Everybody knows the rules, and everybody knows it may or may not get you refused a jumpseat, may or may not keep you from getting another job."

Well put. All these GJ guys are trying to justify theirs or someone elses decision to work at GJ. They all know the reality is that they ARE directly screwing over their brothers at TSA. Sure, maybe in a few years there will only be a few that remember, or care, but does that make it right.

This is a VERY ignorant, VERY naive belief to have.

You flew at 3C, I was a ramper at LAF back in the good ole days of 2003. Pick up Flying the Line Vol. 2 and Hard Landing (they can be had for a couple bucks each used on Amazon), read them on your airport sits, and get back to us once you have a bit of education. What happened with CAL and Eastern is but one reason we are dealing with the crap we have today. We don't have Lorenzo and B-scales, we have C-scale regional jets and faulty scope. And I might be young, but its easy to see a parallel between Eastern planes and routes being sent to CAL and what is happening with Mesa/Freedom, CHQ/Rep/SA and TSA/BlowJets. Its amazing people blame Mesa pilots for their contract without having any sort of understanding behind the reasoning for such a crappy deal. Its certainly not because they wanted it...

Those who forget the past are condemned to repeat it...

Nice Job!

Study your history. You just might learn from it. I lived in Atlanta during that strike in '89. I saw the families of good striking pilots destroyed by Lorenzo and his disgusting SCABs. SCABs and pseudo-SCABs like the Freedumb pilots and now the BloJets pilots are the enablers of hostile management. They enable scum like Lorenzo and Orenstein to screw over the good pilots that fight hard to earn a good living and provide for their families in an honest manner. They let Lorenzo take his time transferring assets from EAL over to CAL while the striking pilots struggled to get by. Eastern was gutted for good. If it wasn't for them, Lorenzo likely would have sold Eastern because it was of no use to him if he couldn't slowly transfer assets. The jobs of those EAL pilots might have been saved, at least for a little while longer. More recently, the Freedumb pilots enabled Orenstein to bend the Mesa pilots over because their flying was being transferred to Freedumb. Do you really think that the Mesa pilots would have such a crappy contract now if it wasn't for the Freedumb pilots that willingly screwed them over? I think not.

It's time to wake up and realize that what happens at one airline affects another. When the Freedumb scum forces the Mesa pilots to take a crappy contract then it makes it harder for you to get a decent contract also. It all ties together. This isn't just a few pilots looking for a job so they can feed their families. It comes down to a lot more than that in the end.

Great Post!

I'm concerned about the airlines indusrty today. What happened in 1989 is water over the dam. I did all the studying I need to do in college.

One day you'll regret you ever said that.

I think your words prove that flying a bigger jet definitely doesn't make you any smarter!

You people are truely amazing! The day will come when even you yourselves will realize it, but until then I'll be pulling for ya....... to be stapled to the bottom of TSA's list.

. . .pseudo-SCABs like the Freedumb pilots

Pseudo-SCAB? What, is that something you just made up and apply to anyone you think is ruining your idea of a perfect world? Sheesh.

I'm telling you, use "Freedomites". Whereas scabs cross picket lines to stab others in the back, Freedomites didn't cross but did something equally unpleasant to pilots from behind (freedomites/sodomites, get it?) . . . .

or so the "argument" goes (or rhetoric, anyway).

BTW, about the jumpseating thing . . . Mesa will fly for Delta this fall (as ALPA Freedom) and for NWA when they go Ch 11 next year. ASA is a definite potential merger candidate for us . . . . . So I'll see you eventually. Please be honest and vent about how you hate Mesa and Freedom when you ask for a ride . . . .

. . . I like to ask jumpers if they have the list, show it to me, point out my name, then ask them why I should let them on board . . . which I always do after watching them squirm . . .

Uhh, no. Try again. I'm a proud "right-wing nut" as some around here might say. Proud 2-time Bush voter (also voted for his brother in Florida actually). Thanks for playing though.

How can you possibly be so strongly union, yet so proud to vote for such an outspoken big business, anti-labor candidate? Do you think this president would EVER allow a pilot group to strike (RLA, remember)? We're not talking about not voting for a guy because of some wierd policy issue; this is an issue that affects your livelyhood in a very direct way . . . .

Because if pilot unions can't strike, they can't do squat. Airline management knows this, and has been running over their union for the past 5 years . . . conicidence, or has all their lobbying for a anti-union candiate paid off?

If you really care about labor, hold you nose and vote Democrat next time. This will help labor a heck of alot more than a list.
