Now your getting it, captains should be fired for unethically denying the jumpseat. The FAA has let the captains ego run wild really. I can see giving full authority over the COCKPIT jumpseat. The cabin jumpseat however is in reality just another non rev seat. The captain shouldnt have authority over that. The gate agent should just be allowed to do their job and assign a seat in the cabin. That way the cabin jumpseater doesnt have to even bother the captain and put anyone at risk

Don't misinterpert what I said. I simply mean it would be stupid for the FO to risk his job over a jumpseater, it's not his decision, it's the Captains.

I know it angers you but the bottom line is the captain has no say over non revs. Unless he wants to demand the ID of every passenger who boards he has no say. Sorry captains are no longer GODs. Pretty soon when they have no say over the cabin jumpseat, because their ego got the best of them, they will have high blood pressure but will adapt.

Not only do I have control of non revs on my plane, but I also have control of revenue pax on my plane. If anyone acts up then as the PIC I am allowed to and will kick them off the plane. Now it is true that I might not know that there is a non rev on the plane, but if you act up then you are gone. If you ask me for a jumpseat and I say no then you try to use an ID 90 to get on I will kick you off, cause there is probably some reason why I wouldnt let you on in the first place. Anyways like it was said before "making you pay for the ride is a beautiful thing"

Them ID90's add up at the end of the month... like $20 to $30 a leg...sometimes more. Stick it to em!

Thats the beautiful part though. Your too arrogant to think someone would actually dare question your authority and use an ID-90. You kick me off and I will be using every means at my disposal to get back on. No flame just fact.

Its really quite simple captain kicks me off and I use my ID-90. I always take the preboard for this reason. If the prick does kick me off I have that option. Luckily I hardly ever jumpseat and ive never been denied. If I do however its reassuring to know I have the option to override his arrogance. There is no way the crew notices everything that goes down. Playing it cool and acting the fool is he way to go.

The only way you have that option is if he says he will accept you on a pass. I have seen several captains do that. Chances are if he doesn't want you on board you're not getting on board. If you put up a fight with the gate agent over how you can "override his authority", chances are the gate agent will refuse to let you on board too. Having been the gate agent, I promise you wouldn't get on board unless I wanted you to board with an ID-90, and then only if the captain agreed. Failure to comply with the gate agent at the very least will earn you a write up from the gate agent sent to your company ( I *HAVE* done that). If you get beligerent with the gate agent insisting that you should get on that flight because you have an ID90, even though the Captain has said he doesn't want you on board, you may get a visit from law enforcement. If you don't believe me, try it with a gate agent one day, especially one thats had a bad day or worked for AA or UA on 9/11.

The only prick here junior is you! Keep those ID 90's handy with a lousy attitude like yours, you'll be denied in a second! If you ever got on MY plane with that attitude, you would NOT be going to your destination!

That is just my opinion. I will continue to let GJ jumpseaters on.
I did not think that they let FO's make that type of decision.

You are right..
However, had an F/O from a major airline tell me how a GJet'ter came on board to catch a ride. Captain said sure... then the F/O talked with the captain and explained the GJ issue (he was ex TSA.. long time ago, but still proud to call himself Ex TSA!) and that they (GJ) are not on their jumpseat list. Low and behold, Capt called the guy back and denied him.

There are ALOT of ex TSA guys out there... more than ex GoJet!

Wow, is it because everyone hates you trans states scabs or mesa or go jets or freedom you all work for the same shaaaaaaaaty company and you had to choose to go their or somewhere else but you choose to go to the dark side, if you don't like it, which I don't know why you thought you would; different story, then don't try to justify your shiaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaty angry for working for such a shiaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaty because no other airline especially mine wants either of you scabs jump seating on our flights. ps sword fight together its a doubled edged swored

Jesus christ, can you really get a medical waiver for turetts or are you just that shi##y of a writer?.......................oh and an a$$hole.

Selfish short-sightedness. They stuck a knife in your back and twisted it. And you let them get away with it.

I can't do much about these pieces of trash, but they sure as hell don't ride in my jumpeat.

But do you ride on theirs when it's the last ride out of town?
