They don't control your seniority at any of those companies???? They control your seniority at Netjets, nowhere else.

As the above poster stated, I don't know of anyone that has been ask to resign their number.

My experience is military, I'm telling you what I have been taught by my Flex and Netjets buddies.

It does make sense though.

Hey come on over, you may like it.. My airline buddies get a "woody" when I tell them almost every other leg is a dead head.

You have to agree on what CD to put on though, I don't do hip hop on dead heads, or any leg for that matter.

Resume and cover letter on the way - however I don't have any inside Letters of Rec except form the NJ - Int. side (different appl.) I remember after 9/11 some of the AA guys saying it (resigning seniority) came up in the interview, but never heard about it again. I think AA wasn't accepting it anyway.

Netjets has no say over whether your number at American is active.

I understand that Nj has nothing to do with my senority but some companies do ask you to submit 'them' a letter of your resignation if they hire you. Then NJ would mail the letter for you to your old company. Companies like AA are realnice about throwing the letter in the round file however NWA isn't. I would just really hate to be put in that position on the spot. That's my point.

Most "majors" won't honor your resignation anyway.

After 5 years at NJA, would you want to go back to a "major" for $30/hour and 20 days a month on reserve? Your peak at the "major" being a 'bus driver making $130k/yr. enough to lure you back from--CA on a Citation Bravo 7/7 for $100k/yr.? Top out at $125k/yr. with more on the G's and F2k's--I think that might be a little more entic... enticei... er, attractive.

This is 16 years at the "majors" talking. Now, if I can just keep Diesel from busting my balls every time I stick my head above the trench line... TC

AA717 - I do see your point. However looking back 22 years from now sitting left seat in a 747-400 (or whatever the big dog is) and laughing about the hard times of 9/11 and making bank, having a 6 year seniority number might be nice. On the other hand I could be looking back in those same 22 years and being SOOO STOKED that I didn't wait around and see what was going to happen to a company that merged and left all the furlough guys standing on the street. So in my opinion, cover ALL your bases the best that you can and keep one eye open while sleeping!

Just my 2 cents from 17 years of 135, 121 and my second furlough.

Also - I was just about to apply at Citation shares and as I went to their website to check on applying on line I see that they ask if you are currently furloughed and if you will resign seniority. Hmmmmnnnnnn? Also require 200 hrs in last 12 mos. Oops...May apply anyway and see what happens.

Some others dismissed the notion that a fractional might demand you resign seniority but obviously you have discovered that is the case with at least one fractional. And who can blame them? If you were an employer, would you want to invest thousands in a person that stood a better than average chance of departing the pattern the minute their major turned the corner?

Obviously, not all fractionals make that demand and good for them. A good fractional management's attitude might be to try and make the pay, benefits, and QOL so good that their employees chuckle at their former co-workers at the major beating their brains out for less money, poor job protection, lousy retirement plans, and terrible schedules.

As I posted before, I would still apply to every fractional, take every interview offered, and then pick the best spot for your situation. Even though I think you will prefer fractional flying to the Mess in Minneapolis, DON'T resign the number.

Keep us posted. Many would like to know the timeline of application to interview, the interview itself, aircraft and domicile offered, etc.

NJ, NJI, CS emailed with cover and resume last night - the waiting game begins.....Gutshotdraw - you are right on the money. The reality is that I won't leave a left seat fractional job to commute to Detroit and fly an RJ or Bus for 50k a year. Just doesn't make sense! It's REALLY good to see the fractionals making the $$ they deserve! I'm surprised that guys from the regionals aren't leaving by the droves.
