Mesa Air Group pilots:
As you may know, Independence Air ceased operations on January 5th.
Capt. ****** has been in contact with the Mesa Air Group Jumpseat
Committee regarding cabin jumpseats for Independence cockpit crew
members after the January 5th date.
The Chief Pilot's office has graciously extended the cabin jumpseat
agreement with them through January 12th for cockpit crew members that
may need a way home.
We ask that you would please continue to offer your (cabin) jumpseat
to any properly badged and attired Independence Air pilot that may need
a ride.
Thank you for your support of our fellow brothers and sisters.
As you are certainly aware, Independence Air ceased operations on Thursday, January 7th. While our industry is extremely competitive, we also share a unique connection with all of our fellow airline employees. The entire Republic Airways family extends our sympathies to all of the Independence Air employees and their families for the difficult time that lies ahead due to this unfortunate shutdown.
In an effort to assist Independence Air crewmembers in ‘getting back on their feet” in their time of need, the Republic Airways family of airlines will honor Independence Air jumpseat requests until Friday, February 10th, 2006. All “jumpseaters” must occupy a seat in the cabin and may not actually occupy the cockpit or cabin jumpseats.
This “jumpseat” courtesy is extended to both Pilots and Flight Attendants (with code share partner concurrence). The person requesting a jumpseat must present either an Independence Air employee ID card or a 2005 Independence Air pay stub. The requester must also present their valid Airman Certificate for pilots, or Flight Attendant Certificate for F/A
