Not too fast there, Traumahawk. Time will tell who's slappin' whom between CAL and XJT. I have a feeling the beancounters at CAL stepped on their collective peckers with that CPA drawdown announcement. They'll get exactly what they pay for... if they want continued world-class service they'll learn it only comes from a world-class operation. XJT, on the other hand, is now free to persue other business and truly holds the cards.

Can I have some of what your smokin? I t seems like really good stuff!

Independence Air Jumpseating

MEMO OPS-06-003
Effective: January 4, 2005
To: All Flight Crews
From: Dirk Melchior, Manager Flight Standards
Re: Independence Air Jumpseating

On Thursday January 5, 2006, Independence Air will cease operations.

As a courtesy to their pilot group, Chautauqua Airlines will allow Independence Air pilots to jumpseat on our flights until Sunday evening January 8, 2006.

The crewmember requesting to jumpseat must show an Independence Air Identification.

If more than one eligible person request to jumpseat, Independence Air pilots will have the lowest priority.

Sorry...Indy Pilots will have the highest priority. On thier last day with no job and no paycheck, why not treat them like a King or Queen. Give em nice memory.

Anyone else who is employed can manage.

TO: All Pilots and Flight Attendants

FROM: Flight Operations Management

As you are certainly aware, Independence Air ceased operations on Thursday, January 5th. While our industry is extremely competitive, we also share a unique connection with all of our fellow airline employees. The entire Republic Airways family extends our sympathies to all of the Independence Air employees and their families for the difficult time that lies ahead due to this unfortunate shutdown.

In an effort to assist Independence Air crewmembers in ‘getting back on their feet” in their time of need, the Republic Airways family of airlines will honor Independence Air jumpseat requests until Friday, February 10th, 2006. All “jumpseaters” must occupy a seat in the cabin and may not actually occupy the cockpit or cabin jumpseats.

This “jumpseat” courtesy is extended to both Pilots and Flight Attendants (with code share partner concurrence). The person requesting a jumpseat must present either an Independence Air employee ID card or a 2005 Independence Air pay stub. The requester must also present their valid Airman Certificate for pilots, or Flight Attendant Certificate for F/As.

Goodluck everyone from FLYi .. All your generous rides have been so greatly appreciated! I'll miss you all.

"We are all saddened by the failure and shutdown of Independence Air this week. While we felt
their business plan was seriously flawed from the beginning, it is still never easy or enjoyable to
see another airline, especially a regional airline, close its doors. Our prayers are with the
employees of Independence Air and we will continue to honor our pass agreement and jump seat
agreement with them through the end of the month in order to assist them in their job search." BB

Looks like you guys welcome to JS until the end of the month on RP,SA and CHQ.

Midwest extending the jumpseat to FlyI pilots till 01/15, please ask to speak to a supervisor or a pilot if a gate agents give you hard time
