Good pilots can make a trip much more enjoyable, too. I'm not asking for "parity" with a commercial pilot's job...it's not my job. But I'm not out of line for expecting a "parity" of respect. The longer you seek to belittle FA's for wanting/expecting respect for the job THEY do, the more you distance yourself as one of those "good pilots."

Frankly, sir, you're on the wrong side of this issue.

You're in the wrong industry if you want respect. Thats true for pilots too.

Thanks SplitBar for the insight and suggestion. I appreciate the support.

Dirk, while you may not receive respect from pax, but I usually do get treated pretty well by them. Being respected by one's co-workers is not an industry specific desire; it's a human dignity thing.

It appears that you're unsure why anyone deserves respect for anything they do. I would suggest, sir, that you may have just revealed to us (and hopefully yourself) why such respect is so hard for you to give or receive.

Good luck in your endeavors.
