whats bluebelly?

Bluebelly is the greatest thing ever! An in-house forum where guys can talk about anything they want!

Unless, of course, it's something the puzzle palace would rather not see discussed, like overtime. Then posts have a way of simply vanishing, leaving late joiners to try to piece together what was actually being discussed.

Hmmm. If only there were a forum- far superior to this one- which contained within it a private sub-forum for Flexjet pilots both current and furloughed. They could be verified by one person using employee numbers and a seniority list, would still be able to remain largely anonymous (like here), and would be able to Post Privately Without fear of their discussions disappearing. In the world of professional pilots, I can't believe such a thing doesn't exist...

If only......................

did anyone ever join the flex forum that the guy posted on the facebook page? I know I never did as I went with the Post Privately Without fear discussion forum page, but its pretty quiet over there.

Did anyone see the clumsy attempt to suppress the topic of OT on Bluebelly? Two guys (one of whom has a reputation for being a total skeeze) traded a few shots, but the original message that started the whole thing was deleted.

Seriously, why not just delete the whole damn thread?

Pretty funny.

I missed it, how bout a recap?

The BB's been real quiet since the economy tanked, not that it was that lively to begin with.

I keep hearing guys talk about another layoff but I just don't see it. We are getting absolutely reamed right now, busy as heck. I know its tough on scheduling right now cause we are so lean its not funny. I bet you a recall happens this year but hey, it all comes down to just numbers-- x number of planes times x number of required crew equals the magic number.

I did read on yahoo finance that bombardier is poised for some crazy growth over the next years which is great news as is their stock is showing the strength coming back.

At this point nothing would really suprise me.

Scare tactic?

The usual suspects who always think the sky is falling?

Perhaps the same guys who swear up and down that Globals are coming "soon" or <insert other absurd rumor here> ?

About 90% of the rumors I heard in the time I was there ended up being complete and total nonsense. I'm not too worried. The world won't end if we don't get recalled and I'm pretty sure that even if/when we do, it will never again be the "career job" that many thought and/or hoped it would.

With all the guys taking overtime while they are getting "reamed" and also the company using contract flight attendants without a word of protest "career job" not a chance.

Although we are busy, lean, and getting "reamed" right now there is no gaurantee things will remain so after the winter season. We generally slow down by april/may and if there is any truth to the rumor of additional lay-offs it would likely happen then.

The only source of this rumor I am aware of is a couple of guys who attended long recurrent within the last month or so and said it was mentioned during the monday afternoon speach. I have not heard anything myself directly from anyone in the training department and/or management.
