I was just looking at Airline Pilot Central and it says 12 recalls in Jan. Just wondering if anybody has heard anything about this? I have heard nothing about recalls anytime soon.

Hmmmm... I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that they meant to put that up on the CitationAir link, not Flexjet. Aren't they supposed to be recalling 16 I believe it was after the new year? There is no word of recalls on the Citation Air link which leads me to believe it was posted erroniously under the wrong company.

I really, really hope I'm wrong, seeing as I'd be in that group of 12...

I have seen many incorrect things on those APC profiles. I agree, this must be another mistake.

It also says that recall rights have been extended to five years. Has anyone heard anything about this from the company? I sure haven't.

Have heard the 5 years from the CP and an ACP FWIW. In this economy, doesn't mean much.

I wouldn't trust the CP, ACPs or FR on telling the future. In Jan '09 they forecast a 50 mil profit and upt it to 70 in June. Then came the crash. They predict the future by looking at the past. The past was gloomy, so they forecast gloomy. If we could predict the future we wouldn't be in aviation. ( Except for riding in the back) I hope and believe, '10 is going to be a much better year and we will see guys returning back to work. The sooner the better.

I remember when APC posted Flexjet had added something like seven bases - back when bases was the big topic of discussion, rather than jobs.

Personally, I assume if there are no recalls by this time of year, there will not be any until next fall. Just my personal speculation - doesn't rise anywhere near the level of rumor.....

I just hope to hear guys are guaranteed 16 days soon - or the company announces 14 is permanent...

Looks like the recall idea has been removed from their site. Guess you guys were right about bogus info being posted on APC. I wonder where they get their information?

My opinion is that there will be some recalls in 2010. They are well staffed for what they have now(lean) but I think even a slight increase in business will mean recalls. Plus, even in bad times people change jobs and hopefully some of the geriatrics will leave.

Hope you're right, it would be great to see some guys come back. I have heard rumors going the other direction however. Guess it all depends on how their numbers look in a couple months.

Is there any truth to the rumors of the company trying to force out some of the older, higher paid captains through mx paperwork issues and/or training events?

No, but they are doing that to the under 40 highly paid captains. They are putting laxatives and Blood Pressure regulators in the "geriatic" captains catering in hopes they will embarris themselves on a trip or pass out and then retire for obvious reasons...you can take this info to the bank 'cause after-all, its posted right here.

embarris ?

No, but with a lot of the stupidity that has been taking place regarding mx paperwork and doing just flat out dumb arse things, the company is no longer turning the other cheek regarding it.

In regards to training, they have always followed the letter of the law and expect, due to the brain child at Colgan, that to continue. I fully expect the FAA to make things even tougher in regards to pilots being marginal and passing check rides.

No. Some older/higher paid captains are forcing themselves out via gross incompetence during training events.

It is great to see, but it is the busy season. The real indicator will be in April/May when we start to slow down for the season. Here's to recalls this year. We have to many great folks on the streets.

lots of flying lately, and LOTS of charters

It'll be great when folks stop requesting OT. How is it that a lot of our captains NEED it, and some how the Fo's are doing just fine without it... hummm..
