Good. Get back in the kitchen.
John, thanks for the kind words and for sharing your perspective with me. Posts like yours show that the good at FI outweighs the bad and an online community is available here for those who want it.
From what you describe..., things sound grim at Flex. I'm sure there are some Flight Options pilots who once saw their situation as hopeless, too. Now they are a unified group actively working to improve their situation.
Something we all can learn from the NJ story is that situations can do a 180 degree turn. Watching the NJ pilots, I observed that some people will drift....not taking control of their own destiny...until they hit the bottom. Only then will they stand together and pull themselves up. It sounds as though that time may have come for the Flex pilots. Remember, that sometimes big change only happens after taking a series of smaller steps. Good Luck!
Thanks for the camaraderie!

Flexjet will have it's union. The short version is that if this passes, the NLRB will only need 51% for a union to be voted in. The company and newly voted in union have 90 days to hammer out the first contract. If no contract after 90 days, then an arbitrator comes in and will settle it within I believe 45 days. Both sides will be bound by the contract for 2 years. It is in sub committe right now.
Here is the link: http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h111-1409[/quote
The FLOPS guys should read this. Maybe they'll get a contract, maybe their lawyers missed it.
steelersrule say what?
We just got a raise, anyone else got one? .... crikets .... is all I hear. Over my career here, I've made more than any NJ pilot in my seniority. Look, I'm not against a union at Flex; I just don't care to hear from NJW; who doesn't have a dang thing to do with Flex. She fought her fight, let it be. I've told her where she could dance in the past, to no avail, and don't have a problem doing it again.

You just got a raise? Actually you still are losing. You lost what, one or two days per bid period. Your raise still keeps you well below what a same year pilot at NJ makes. Did you also factor in NJ's paid for health care - while a good part of your healthcare you are paying out of your check? Did you bother to think of QOL issues where Flex is sorely at the back of the pack? Or maybe consider the 85 Flex pilots out on the street? Didn't think so. Typical attitude from a "me" only pilot group, while NJ's enjoy's a "we" pilot group.
A "we" pilot group would be pissed to see raises after seeing 20% of their brothers and sisters thrown out on the street.
A "me" pilot group would tout their "raise" without a second thought to their fellow pilots. And sad thing is your touting it - and didn't even get a raise.
No doubt your one of the a$$holes out there scrambling for OT with furloughed folks on the street.
Pathetic

Classic case of koolaid-itis !!
Ouch!! Facts hurt.Uh, okay, lets post our W2s from either your employer or mine over the last 7 years. Who made the most money?
I would like to see your numbers to prove your statements. Can you provide them? Or are you just talking out your azz?
BTW, you did furlough, then give raises. Right?
Messed up.
Okay, I didn't read your entire post. Just read the part about the raise, and flew off the handle. Now, I see who that post was aimed at.
I do have a problem, though. We can not look at this as a raise.
-Fact.. They raised our daily rate by 4%.
"Yeah, we got a pay raise," say those who drink the Koolaide being served at the meetings.
-Fact.. In the REAL world... ALL Flexjet pilots will make LESS money this year than they did last year.
More and more policy changes are happening. We still have NO say. Well, I guess we can say what we have been forced to say for years here... "Thank you, sir... May I have another!".. as we grab our ankles and take it up the______ !
Saying that we got a pay raise, in a way, disrespects the 85 pilots we had to put on the street. The LAST thing they want to read up here is that we are whining about a pay raise. But, that just isn't the full truth.
I am taking a 13% pay cut this year at flex. Do the math. We are ALL taking pay cuts.
Who loves ya, Baby??!!!
