We're recalling/hiring in case anyone had any further doubts about our early demise.

Sweet, Of course theyre going to do the right thing and put those challenger 300 slots up for bid so that the trapped Lear trash can transition? That caused a moral issue the last time and, would be worth the cost in the long run..Im just saying!

Your hopes, don't get them up.

Since FOs are paid the same regardless of equipment type, they are assigned by the company as needed. Occasionally if a fleet is "over staffed", the company may transition FOs to a different fleet, usually in seniority order. Sometimes, rarely, FOs from a fleet bid to move to a different fleet. Voluntary movements incur a seat lock, moves at the company's desire do not. Upgrades are in seniority order.

The irony of a thread titled "Flexjet and a slow death" announcing recalls/hiring vs the thread titled "NJ Recalls" that spends 28+ pages talking about NO recalls is typical of Flightinfo.

Let me clarify. It was announced that recalls/new hires would be used to fill the open Challenger slots, but that a chance to transition would occur later in the year as the fleet plan begins to see fruition and attrition continues. They're not going to pay for two training events when they can fill their holes with one.

My wife was furloughed from a previous airline. A year later, she was recalled. A week into MD-80 school, the instructor walked in and said "go home folks, your company is shutting the doors."

Not trying to be Debby Downer and I hope Flex really is on the road to recovery.

I would just be careful on how much importance I would assign to a recall when honestly evaluating my company's prospects.

It was more of a shot across the bow at those claiming we were being bought by Floptions and would be all out on the street because we're non union.

Flex recalled and furloughed the same cats in a short period very recently. This quarter's bottom line was very, very healthy.

I was contacted yesterday about coming back...... The previous rehire/furlough does have me a little unsure though.

The way the bring back was offered though is very good.

Well, yeah but hiring does not mean we are not being sold to anyone. Just means we are short staffed

OK I'm confused... So you guys wanna be sold to someone?

Some Flex guys get very defensive every-time that subject that comes up

Which is it?

My personal opinion is that Flex, FLOPS and even NJA are always for sale for the right price. Bottom line is that whether any of us are for sale or not, all we can do is do our jobs. If you feel that the company you work for is doomed, do yourself a favor and find another job so that you don't have to worry about whether your fractional will be there or not. This is not a leave if you don't like it post, just a plain matter of fact. Either way, we ALL will have to deal with whatever cards we are dealt.

agreed that any company is for sale at the right price, but it would be nice to know if Bombardier wants to sell us off or grow us substantially and kick some NJ ass

Flex has to bring people back, the attrition is growing every day with guys getting hired by legacy's and recalls to AA.

If you got recalled and have no flying job take the recall if thats what you want. J
ust keep looking for a better place. Flexjet= Stagnation no upgrades.

XOJET 18 months to upgrade and there buying Flexjets Used Challengers.

XO jet sucks ..look at their pay and schedule! What's the difference in pay between a 5 year Captain and a 8 year captain? Nothing..oh and a sweet 14 day on 14 off schedule. Flex is by no means great but, jumping ship for XO jet is just foolish.

Dude, while our pay does suck, you realize that those on the 15/13 schedule (no 14/14...get your facts straight before throwing rocks) bid for that schedule, right? Don't want to work doubles? then don't bid for it! It's that simple.

since you brought it up, i hope your company fails and you're out of work.

sucks dont it?

A slight overreaction don't you think? At least you stopped short of putting a curse on him.

Since NJ bought Globals and then Challengers we've seen I don't know how many posts about putting FJ out of business with a no compete clause or, buying the planes and furloughing the crews, and this is all it takes to set you off?.... Lighten up Francis.

It's bonus day, let all the guys and gals at a slowly dying company enjoy our moment. Later in the week you can go back to ensuring this is the Net Jet forum instead of a place for all the fractionals to talk trash.
