I just got offered a 604 slot with FlexJet. What are there tours like and how are the guys on the 604? Do they always have a Flight Attendant on the 604?

Just trying to decide if the 604 with Flex would be better than a 91 gig I have lined up? I have been flying light jets for about 3 yrs.

Also... is Flex using EFBs or paper? Do dispatchers do everything as far as W&B etc?

Thanks guys.

My opinion - take the 604. You get a stew, you get international trips in addition to normal domestic trips and you get great experience on a top-line aircraft. Take it.

Is the 605 conversion included or will that be crewed by separate pilots?

I can't speak about the tours, cause I don't know.
They almost always have a FA
Paper but will probably see EFB in a year or two
You do your own WB dispatch does the rest.

International and domestic trips, always have a FA, no EFB's yet, You get a release and the CA does the W&B. 604 FO is the most kush job with the company. All you'll do it the walk around, and get the clearance. FA takes care of the back and the CA takes care of the rest.

Ok so maybe more to it than that but as a 300 FO I have to clean the back where as in the 604 thats what the FA is for.

The "CountryClub" is what you make of it. Of course there are 2 guys that might be difficult, but the other 30 are entertaining and humorous. FA's are great, but they will have a bad day or 2. Some are younger and others are older. Most roll with the punches and every one has a good time.

If you are a so called "slam-clicker" then the604 is not for you. We hang out as a crew, eat, drink and play almost like extended family.

The 604's is a great A/C. Very few MX issues, short and long legs, warm or cold crew meals, plus if your 91 gig doesn't ,Heat and AC are available.

All paper on 604, paperless option on 605's but no word as to when they will be paperless.

As said before, the 604 is the best job inside of Flex.

604

No question. Take the 604 slot if offered. Great airplane and the FA will do a lot of the work you would do otherwise.

Congratulations Nick. The Challenger experience will definitely open up countless corporate opportunities if you decide to not make a career of Flexjet. Seems to me you should accept! Good luck.

Stop your bitching as the 300 is just as kushy as the 604. Just wait until you get to the Lears. LOL

I'd still prefer having a stew in the 604 to fix me a coffee mid-flight. Plus, more fun on the layovers to have more people.

Take the 604

Hey "Say again", If that is a pictute of your wifes ass let me be the first to salute you!

SSSSSSAAAAAAALLLLUUUUUTTTTTEEEE!!!!!!

What is the part 91 job?

I was a Lear 60 F.O. at Flex, the 604 people were all real cool.

They offered you the 604 and you don't know what a "slam and cliker" is?

Good luck!

The part 91 gig seems good. Its a Citation Bravo Captain based in my hometown (no commuting!). Pay is inline. The owners seem to be adventurous (skiing, boating, fun, etc.). The plane is set to fly 150-200 hours per year (300 hrs max) and mainly on the west coast (SFO, SNA, LAS and Utah).

On the other side I have heard good things about Flex as well as about flying the CL604.

What to do!?

Hell, take the darn 91 gig.

I interview next week, and I'll step into your spot,,, pronto.

Frankly, I'll look damn good in that plane.

604

And the all the problems associated with the 604 F/O's upgrading into the lear proves your point.

I truly feel sorry for the F/O's that have to fly with the crusty old men in the 604's. Some won't let you fly one leg, EVER! Empty or live, EVER. They are the biggest whiners and complainers in the company. They can't STAND to do anything but a 604 trip, even though we ALL fly FLEXJET customers. You won't learn anything sitting in the right seat of the 604 except how to NOT treat your F/O's as a captain, in my opinion. We can only hope that more 45 captains move into the 604 to help this problem--as some have already.
