FedEx Poolie Calls, Fourth Thread

A buddy of mine just got hired at JB and they assigned a captain to serve as his mentor and keep him updated on things via email. He told him when to expect training, how many are in the pool, etc., etc. It's a good thing. It allows guys to plan out the next year of their lives with a ballpark idea of what to expect.

Now don't get me wrong. I'd rather have spent the past several months in a dark dungeon and have a FedEx job waiting for me than to work for anyone else, but it would be nice to have the company send the message that we're going to be a part of the team. I was offered could have gone to a fighter RTU in this span of time but declined thinking my training date was just around the bend. It affects a lot more than just the individual in the pool.

The company knows this and is sending you the message they want you to hear.

IMHO, its another test of your loyalty to the team.

You posted on 05/03/06 that you "interviewed there last week", that would make your interview end of April...different from March interview as you mentioned above...which is it? What acft were you offered?

Noreaster: What class date, acft & domicile were you offered in Sep?

All: I have it from very close contacts to KD that after the MD-11 ANC slots were full, the 727 slots would be handed out FIFO. In fact, folks who were handpicked (non-FIFO) for the last few MD-11 slots were allowed to pass on the MD-11 ANC slots, if they chose to, and wait for a 727 MEM slot --- "in interview order".

From earlier posts on these threads it looks like 14 Aug will be the last MD-11 ANC slots for new hires....I think 727 slots will start flowing steadily beginning in Sep...let's all be patient....no need to call KD....just need to keep the intel flowing from the guys already on-site and in training. Thanks guys!!

...letting us know the class date would make it perfect!

Perhaps the next person to get the call from KD this week could simply ask her at the end ..."So,how far out the 727 classes are expected to be spaced?".

I know the guys who interviewed later then Jan would really appreciate it.
