PORTLAND - A Federal Express cargo plane crash landed in a golf course near Portland Saturday morning. The pilot had only minor injuries.
The plane was headed from Portland to Medford.
Golf course employee Sean Dolan was driving a cart away from the seventh hole when he heard the crash, looked back and saw the plane nearthe seventh hole. He called 9-1-1. The emergency operator told Dolan to check on the pilot.
"I ran up there, the guy was okay. He was waving to me but he couldn't get out so I stayed on the phone to 9-1-1," Dolan said.
The pilot had to be cut out of the plane.
Fed Ex sent teams to the scene to retrieve the packages and deliver them.

FN FAL is correct. That plane is owned by FedEx and operated by a feeder under contract. We had an FCIF about the crash and the pilot survived the intitial accident. I haven't heard an update since the FCIF. FedEx owns about 350 aircraft used by contract feeder operators. Big fleet at FedEx if you count those aircraft. That is why you often see quotes in the paper about how FedEx operates a fleet of over 700 aircraft.
