A report from the scene

PORTLAND - A Federal Express cargo plane crash landed in a golf course near Portland Saturday morning. The pilot had only minor injuries.
The plane was headed from Portland to Medford.
Golf course employee Sean Dolan was driving a cart away from the seventh hole when he heard the crash, looked back and saw the plane nearthe seventh hole. He called 9-1-1. The emergency operator told Dolan to check on the pilot.
"I ran up there, the guy was okay. He was waving to me but he couldn't get out so I stayed on the phone to 9-1-1," Dolan said.
The pilot had to be cut out of the plane.
Fed Ex sent teams to the scene to retrieve the packages and deliver them.

I love how FedEx sent the crews "to retreive the packages and deliver them." Glad to see they were terribly concerned about the accident
:)

Fedex doesn't own those planes.
Yea, they do, dork.

If you're certificated in anything that requires instructional knowledge, you should mail it back to the authority what let you possess it.

Your subject of "FedEx plane crash near PDX" is spot-on, to say the least.

Are you the same guy who posted "Northwest plane crash near Jefferson City, Missouri?" Maybe you meant Pinnacle?

Nice work, genuis. If this aviation career doesn't work out for you, I'm sure CNN is hiring.

FN FAL is correct. That plane is owned by FedEx and operated by a feeder under contract. We had an FCIF about the crash and the pilot survived the intitial accident. I haven't heard an update since the FCIF. FedEx owns about 350 aircraft used by contract feeder operators. Big fleet at FedEx if you count those aircraft. That is why you often see quotes in the paper about how FedEx operates a fleet of over 700 aircraft.

Long day?

Didn't know that. Thought they were all wet leased from places like Empire.

Let me guess what you fly.

Just repeating the title of the news article. As usual on this board, shoot the messenger.

Going for the airplane type = penis size argument?
Actually, no, but don't let me stop you.

If you get this bent every time someone thinks Fedex doesn't own caravans, you must be great fun after a couple of beers.

Anything else you want to get defensive about for no apparent reason? I'll be around for a little bit.

:D relax, it's just the internet. It's like teletype, just without the paper and the clickity clackity noise.

What does 965FE have to do with this accident?????

Nothing, Horshack...I was simply trying to prove that you could go on www.google.com , pick an image of a FedEx Feeder C208 at random, do a registration check on it and find that it was owned by the FedEx Corporation.

Nothing more, nothing less.

I'm just curious how close he got to the hole? I ask because it seems like the caravan would be good with the short game. If he didn't make the green then they should have painted over the wreckage. If he was within putting range they should have given the pilot a mulaghin. Either way, I think he may have come up with a new sport. We should call Pinnacle and see if they want to join a scramble.
