just got news that fed ex is going to furlough 700, the union is trying to lower line values to keep as many on property as possible... also the 777 has been delayed 18 months...

THIS SUX

Before this gets way overblown, this is not quite true. From my understanding, the company sent out an internal memo stating, in a nutshell, that according to their numbers, they are 700 pilots overmanned. To help mitigate possible furloughs, they are invoking a section of the contract that they must do BEFORE any furloughs can happen. This clause is the guarantee reduction. There are problems now arising from this section of the contract, all of which I'm not familiar, but this is what's going on.

So, you have to check your facts before you throw out that grenade.

Do you think for any FedEx pilots that get furloughed getting a job at Delta would be OK, in order to ride out their furlough, until the get recalled at FedEx?

How many pilots are there total at FDX?

This is the last company I'd expect to see a "possible furlough" post about. Here's to no one going to the street.
