Makes sense to me. If we are over staffed, this would be a good way to get some of us to leave. Not sure that I want to go spend a few thousand dollars on my off days just make 2500 bucks a month, fly 6-7 legs a day with reduced rest over nights.

Heard the rumor coming from training guys in AQP is FOs are to pay for their ATP. Anyone else hear this.

Of all the rumors, that would be the dumbest I've ever heard. It wouldn't work for several reasons.

A) The ATP will be required. Easily, every FO here could say "I'm not paying for that sh**" and eventually XJT would have to cease operations.

B) It costs the company Zero extra dollars to get FOs their ATP if AQP becomes approved for types.

C) Our MEC would never let tha...........wait nevermind. Likely we will see an MOU authorizing the company to charge pilots for it.

will NEVER sign a training contract already being 5 years in... if anything they owe me and all the other FOs big time. Would never pay XJT for my ATP either... Not my problem the FAA is going to require the ATP. They hired me without it and didn't want to type me. There will be a LOT of law suits if something like that were to go through.

Pure stupid rumor

There's an app for that!!

The MEC has a "there's an MOU for that" app on all of their smart phones.

Quick and easy.. Most importantly.. discreet.

I can't see it happening either, I was just told that some of the heads guys in the training dept (PG, and EH) were in RGT and said thats what they are hearing from the company right now. This coming from someone in recurrent last week. I just wondered if anyone has been in class recently and heard this.

IP's in recurrent are in the dark about everything. Their rumors come from the pilots out on the line. The irony is that CT thinks it's the IP's that spread the rumors (just like the one about furloughs, when it was really SH that was making that up).

Regarding information from our leadership team in recurrent, they aren't making their propoganda speeches anymore. SH, CT, and BH haven't been to a recurrent class in quite some time, because they grew tired of being heckled, badgered, and asked questions they can't answer........or won't answer.

You ain't payin' for no ATP- relax Francis!

Well considering I'm in the left seat, I'm all set. It was simply a question. I just see the company having a major issue if they try it.

Yes...

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet, but they are also most likely checking to make sure you even can get the ATP. Remember, an ATP has more requirements than just 1500 hours. A big catch for all the guys who got hired with ultra low time is the 250 PIC requirement. Pinnacle had a problem with this years ago with a bunch of Gulfstream grads. They had the total time, but lacked PIC.

The rumor isn't true.

Then how do they do the ATP for the 200 hour wonders that got hired and upgraded in 2 years with no PIC time. (god save us) Isn't there an exception for SIC time?
