I hope you've been keeping up on your logbooks. Totals due by March 14th.

  1. Total Pilot Time
  2. Total Cross-Country Time
  3. Total Night Time
  4. Total Instrument Time in Simulated Conditions
  5. Total Instrument Time, in Actual or Simulated Instrument Conditions
  6. Total Time as Pilot In Command (PIC) in an Airplane
  7. Total PIC Time in an Airplane, Cross Country
  8. Total PIC Time in an Airplane, at Night
 
Oh apparantly United says it wasn't weather or mechanical related...as if they would know.

Is this do to TSA over run in Rochester?

We're all getting ATPs! Funny, this might result in a mass exodus of FOs who would now be qualified for jobs like JetBlue and several lucrative overseas jobs like Emirates, FlyDubai, Qatar, and Ethiad
 
This is ridiculous. They know how much time I had when I got hired/took my initial checkride(filled out an 8710), they know how much I have flown for them, why cant they do the math and figure out in 6 years as an FO I PROBABLY meet the minimums for an ATP. Hell I am going to upgrade in May, I hope I meet the mins.

Maybe for the newer guys that have been here less than a year I can understand, but if you get hired at our bare mins(500tt) in basically one year, maybe 18 months, you will probably meet the mins for an ATP.

My guess is this is yet another thing that the company doesnt want to pay somebody to do(records checks) and will just push it off on the pilot group to accomplish for free.
 
The ASA side is not (so far) asking for this.

Nice work, gutting the crew records department. I bet the three people left will be a little busy. Oops. Just checked. It's down to two people now.
 
Please explain why this is an undue hardship? If you're filling out apps to other airlines you don't ask your current employer for the totals...you come up with your resume from your own records.

Not to mention the fact that since it is an 8710 that you're going to have to fill out and sign your name to you probably aren't going to take the company's record for your flight time anyway. Every one of us that has upgraded in the last 10 years had to get these numbers on our own, why should you be any different?

I ask again, what is it that makes this such a burden?

Because this is the me, me, me.....I want, I want, I want generation. Maybe they can form an occupy group to get their records done for them.

I agree with gator hater. Sure, for some who aren't just about to upgrade this is a little bit of a hassle, but especially for you, you're about to fill out an 8710 anyway!

I'm an FO but already have an ATP, I didn't get asked any of these questions. I'm guessing if you check the ATP box it won't ask you all these flight time questions??

They are too busy listening to their iPod and whining on FI to actually be responsible...
