Delta just wanted to increase the 90 seat rj flying in LGA, they will phase out the 80/88s and replace with "all rj all the time".. i think its the delta clowns new motto.
Its a terminal swap at LGA. Delta is tight to say the least with their shared NWA/DAL terminal. USair's terminal was a morgue. Delta now gets the larger next door terminal, in exchange for the Marine Air Terminal and rights to fly from DC to Brazil and Japan.
Delta also gets 125 LGA slots in exchange for 42 DCA slots.
Smart move by both sides.

Bailout...They will basically be a gov't contractor charging whatever they want for tix. Look at the cost of ORF where they are the largest carrier.
