You are getting this, are you.

Perhaps Flightglobal/RBS will explain it better

And please tell me you live/work in the region

PS it's not 120 it's 92 (again)

I wouldn't trust RBS, who has had considerable Fraud and been called into numerous banking inquiries for illegal allegations. They remind me of the accounting firm who stated Emirates was profitable. They see a small number of the books which Emirates only wants to show them and then made a rhetorical analysis of how profitable Emirates business plan is demonstrated.

The 92 or 120 aircraft is the difference between firm orders and what Emirates CEO has publicly stated in numerous forums he wants 120 A-380s in the next 10 years. You can do the research on this one but it is widely out there that Emirates is going forward with plans for the 120 although with the protectionist tide starting in Canada/N. America, Europe and now China and India I see this number dropping substantially. As to your question of where I work, I am an Ex Pat in Asia. I had enough of the ME to last me a lifetime but still follow closely the huge growth in aviation in that region. I have numerous friends at Emirates, Fly Dubai and Qatar. An interseting piece of side news is the artificially created Dubai World islands may be sinking and slipping back into the sea. This may be the ultimate fate of the ME carriers with such huge expansion plans in such a protectionist phase in international politics and economics.

Air India pushing back against Emirates asking their government to stop 6th Freedom rights through major Indian cities. Air India has asked the government to withdraw some of these.
The government-owned carrier has asked for withdrawal of flights from destinations such as Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Lucknow, Chennai and Jaipur, among others.
It also has asked the government to stop flights to 18 tourist destinations that include places like Amritsar, Bhubaneshwar, Thiruvananthapuram and Varanasi, among others.
"The capacity entitlements under various bilaterals increased during January 2004 till March 2010 by around 290 per cent and the utilisation of these bilateral rights has been much less in the case of Indian carriers.
But the foreign carriers have utilised these rights, impacting the revenue share of Indian carriers," said a government official, who did not want to be identified.
