Not to get Orwellian on you guys, but does anyone think that one day they'll mandate some form of a breathalyzer?

We already do it in Japan. Although it is not always enforced.

It's illegal to drive planes drunk. That sounds like a decision to me.

A police source told the newspaper: "He was amazed to be still over the limit in the middle of the day."

He must have been on a real bender the night before to register over the limit early in the afternoon. What's the rule, one hour for one ounce to get it out of your system? He must have finished around midnight with almost a pint in his system.

It is true if by won ounce you mean 1 ounce of 100 proof alcohol. A good rule of thumb is a .01 drop in BAC per hr, but this starts after you stop drinking and when your body starts to break down and excrete the alcohol. People with higher amounts of body fat store alcohol longer.

However this does not imply that you will be fit for duty using that chart.
