This is an internal email from US West? And it was posted by lowecur? Calling the Queen of Sky, come in Queen of Sky!

Actually some true things in there, though. If it ain't posted on letterhead, however, I'll take it for the flightinfo bs that it is.

As for jb success in CLT, only time will tell if those SOOPER-SATISFIED US West customers will choose another airline. In all fairness, they may not.

He's busy flying that subsidized 727 full of US postal mail.

actually...I was shooting at the wrong guy. For the record--DS--bad. DP--no real opinion.

For the record--I dug America West. Also for the record--I HATED travelling on US Air. I also hate what happened to Piedmont--my old hometown carrier, when they merged/got bought out.

So--I'll go back to discussing LCCs, box hauling, interview prep, etc...and then I'll study my CEO names a bit closer before shooting from the hip.

Again--like a LOT of US Air and former US Air guys--but detest what their management has done.

Back into my hole...sorry for the inconvenience...

All:

Before I would go off half cocked about who will beat who......you must look at the "segments" of the airline business.

U certainly has a lot of business flyers who demand first class, upgrades, lounges, and worldwide service, and they make their bread and butter on those folks and at the same time carry lots of families on vacations. Legacy carriers concentrate on people who HAVE to fly for their job/work.

JB caters to more of the discretionary traveler, like the families who are on vacation and the occasional traveller. Of course, they carry their share of business people who have to fly to work and that is where the battleground, but their bread and butter is people who fly because they WANT to. In other words, they will fly if they can afford it.

I think they cater to different segments of the business. Some customers will choose one over the other. Some choose price, some choose schedule, some choose service. There is enough to go around.

This is all a mute point if jetA stays at $2.50-3.00 per gallon. There isn't a profitable route with that kind of fuel bill in the US.

Real memo posted on both the west and east internal sites. I'm suprised they didn't make a press release out of it.

For a religious man he needs to tone it down and be a little more humble.

So what does this have to do with anything. He's created a remarkable buisness and has stirred the nest of some big competition that are coming for him. Being humble in a buisness environment is not what got jetBlue to were it is today. These types of comments are good for USAir so they might step up and deliver a better product.

JB's a good airline, but an international network carrier with an LCC pricing structure is a pretty good option over a national LCC. Lets face it, if you want to get from SYR to Lisbon, Jet Blue can only get you to, well, JFK; Airways can get you all the way there.

Or, Albie can get you there overnight if you can get into one of those boxes.

Funny you should mention SYR-Lisbon....I heard that particular route is a real money maker!

Doug should have also added...

"Thank you US taxpayers for subsidizing the pensions we can no longer pay, and a big thanks to the ATSB for using tax dollars to keep us alive..."

What type of company paid pension do the independent contractors at JBLU have? Do they each negotiate their own package of benefits?

Oh Blue-hoo. You guys dislike the fact that another carriers CEO is taking Needleman to task. The charade is over. blew is about to see the reality of the industry.......and I can't wait.

Another brown log deposit to the cess pool known as 32LT10's posts.

Subsidized postal sound familiar? You double standard really tarnishes your desire to enrichen yourself at the expense of your employer. We had a few people like you back in the day when UAL was hiring. They made some serious coin on the backs of the company's prospective employees during prosperous times.

So at some point you will get some competition or FDX will stop hiring and your services will no longer be needed. Who you going to blame for that? US? UAL? DAL?

Your shot at US does not reflect well on your business venture or you.

That's rich.

32, you're at United right? Any truth to the story that your CEO has body guards assigned to him? I don't know whether to laugh or cringe at that.

Absolutely true. He rides around EXO in a cross between the pope mobile and Segway. It was custom made for him and cost over 2million dollars. Also his salary is now 9 trillion a year. The body guards are all ex CIA operatives. They dress to look like regular workers so as not to blow their cover, but they are there. Also, space aliens live in your backyard.

When Needleman starts furloughing out of seniority he may have to call in the Mormon Mafia to protect himself. When the bluebirds allow the hangover to wear off and see how the future is going to play out, there will be some angry independent contractors.

Since you all sign a individual contract does that mean each and every one of you is sort of like an express carrier for the JBLU name?
