Delta Files with DOT for Daily Service to Moscow from Atlanta
Tuesday January 18, 10:39 am ET

Delta seeks to expand Moscow service with flights from the world's
largest single-airline hub

ATLANTA, Jan. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL
- News) customers soon will have access to Moscow from Atlanta, the
world's largest single-airline hub, if the U.S. Department of
Transportation (DOT) approves the carrier's request, submitted today.

Delta is requesting permission from the DOT to serve Moscow with
daily service from Atlanta using a Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, capable
of carrying up to 204 people in a two-class configuration and
featuring Delta's award-winning BusinessElite service.

Delta currently serves Moscow's Sheremetyevo International Airport
daily from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
Delta is the only U.S. carrier serving Russia. This move comes on the
heels of other key international announcements reflecting Delta's
transformation, unveiled in September, into a more customer-focused
carrier providing increased access to more of the world.

In October, Delta announced plans to begin service in May to Berlin's
Tegel International Airport from JFK. And in December, Delta
announced plans to serve Chennai (Madras), India, via Paris-Charles
de Gaulle, also beginning in May. (Despite the devastating and tragic
effects of the Asian tsunami, this service is still set to operate.)

Delta is the world's second-largest airline in terms of passengers
carried and the leading U.S. carrier across the Atlantic, offering daily
flights to 492 destinations in 89 countries on Delta, Song, Delta
Shuttle, the Delta Connection carriers and its worldwide partners.
Delta's marketing alliances allow customers to earn and redeem
frequent flier miles on more than 14,000 flights offered by SkyTeam
and other partners. Delta is a founding member of SkyTeam, a global
airline alliance that provides customers with extensive worldwide
destinations, flights and services. For more information, please visit

Georgia peach pie and borsch in First Class, by chance?

Medflyer,

Didn't you just return from over there with a new mail order wife? You obviously didn't have enough time to "shop around" in the states since you are sooo busy with your regional schedule. Why couldn't you have just gone to Hooters for a wife like the rest of us?

Bye Bye--General Lee

General,

With almost 4000 posts in a little over 2 years one would think you could have mastered the art of defending your airline with a little more class and professionalism by now. Your post reflects your double-breasted arrogance, your insecurity, and solidifies your personality not unlike that of a jealous school girl. You pompous a$$!
