It's a good thing, you will now get some more coin in your pocket in exchange for the increased numbers of big RJ's at the lowest bidder airline. The passage of this TA will also put a much needed cap on the worn out, timmed out, unprofitable, out of production 50 seaters - nice job.

CAL never sold out on scope. In exchange for a better contract, every other major has. Rag on CAL all you want, but we held strong on scope.

We can all thank DALPA for the massive outsourcing of hundreds of thousands of jobs. Now it's time for operation 'twist' into larger RJs. The same arguement will be made for 100 seaters after this contract is up.

Not surprising at all. Delta pilots have a history of lowering the bar. I'm sure GL will spin this concession as a good thing like he always does. Maybe you Song guys will get a union someday and have a contract they aren't embarrassed about.

How's the stagnation going at SWA? I did see where your $1 billion "savings" will be going when you deferred your 30 737-800s. Apparently 5 of your planes will try "live TV" for a test period. So, in reality, you will be the next Song, called "Dhong.". One class LCC with live TV type entertainment. Have fun on "Dhong."

So, in a near economic DEPRESSION thanks to Barry Obama, you Delta guys get more airplanes (add 80+ 717s and 25+ MD90s), far fewer RJs (SUCKS FOR ME ), better strategic alliance control with other airlines (more scope control), big raise over 3 years, better work rules and you get the ability to negotiate the next contract in 2.5-3 years from now. Sure, a bigger raise now would be better - but there would be tradeoffs in the negotiation. If you are a Democrat, you probably think you are entitled to get things FOR FREE - but that ain't the case - even in this negotiation and Anderson knows that. You can't guarantee a second offer would be much better in a collapsing economy - Anderson could remove items from negotiation and "Transtar your a$$." :laugh: It's possible. Think about it - you guys will be negotiating an even better contract in just a few years... IMO, adding more mainline airplanes, getting a "good" raise (on a relative basis) and massively controlling/changing RJ scope are the biggest wins for now....

From my non-Delta perspective (yeah, not worth much on this board), the overall result sounds pretty good considering the crap economy and the state of the teetering airline business - especially the RJ reduction and better scope control. In Europe, all legacy airlines are cutting back and firing people while smaller state airlines are shutting down and liquidating. Qantas in Australia is on the brink of bankruptcy and chaos. Airlines in South America and India are either merging or bleeding cash. The airline business SUCKS. And if Barry Obama wins another 4 years, we could see this economic disaster continue and things could get worse... :crying:

So, try to look for some positives in this result - you only have another 3 years until you can improve the contract again. Again, just my opinion (and, like an a-hole, everyone has one). :laugh: Plus, mainline aircraft growth means more hiring opportunities down the line - FINGERS CROSSED!
