He probably had to do the 90 degree "I'm a 747" style turn prior to the line up and wait on the runway

I don't fly any version of the Mad Dog, but honestly, having felt those ridiculous brakes enough times like everyone else, I'd gladly opt for an extra 30 feet of stopping distance in a rejected takeoff scenario.

It looks like the exact opposite scenario from the pics. Appears as if he was making a right turn and turned early, sending the right main into the grass. Should have waited longer to initiate the turn.
 
remember the "line" is for exiting aircraft, not lining up ones..would hate to be in the position of explaining why I ran off the end of the runway due to improper line-up technique
 
I heard from a friend that has a brother, who works with someone. They said that there was a a SWA pilot in the back, and they think in some way it's his fault.
