The next scope level will be at the 99-100 seat level, then RAy just removes 5 seats out of the 717 and adds at least 10 to the -900 and he gets exactly what he's been moving towards. And DALPA will sign off on it for a small payraise. Rinse and repeat.
What are you talking about?
Psa did its own flying-
Delta doesn't do a whole lot of its own flying
You reloaded the whipsaw market just as it was in a natural decline
And mgmt has its wedge
Good job
The 76 seat limit hasn't grown in 2 contracts now, and the last time it did change was in BK, from 70 to 76 seats. Instead of giving up more, you guys gave DL 88 717s and $130 million to refurbish them. Great move. What I think you should be worrying about Red is GK's want to become a LCC again. Hold the line Red, hold the line!
Bye Bye---General Lee
Hold the line??
You're hilarious Gen. I thought you had heard, Southwest doesn't have any RJ's. It's been that way for 41 years.
We'll continue to struggle along here without any regional jet feed.... Oh yea, and zero codeshare.
RA is just slowly turning the heat up on the DALPA regional jet stock pot. You guys won't notice a thing when he comes for that 100 seat outsourcing (you'll just be seeing dollar signs from a small raise). It's time to start educating your senior guys now, because they won't care what's happening at the bottom of the list.
Have a great Memorial Day weekend, and don't get stuck on the ramp behind too many 9's!
Care to wager, general?
Right now, -900's aren't just going mid size cities- they're doing every domestic thing you got and actually a whole lot of huge market to huge market-
My bet is they will continue to-
So... What's it worth to you? A month off Flight Info?
PSA had 24 BAe 146-200s, and they sat 85 pax, which would be too many at UAL or DL today via scope clauses. But, DL is getting 88 717s that will carry about 105 passengers I believe, and that will be done at mainline. BRAVO!!! Mainline is recapturing old markets, and SWA is paying $130 million to facilitate that, too. FANTASTIC.
Bye Bye---General Lee
Red,
DL is already taking care of the outsourcing, thanks to you guys! Think where 88 newly refurbished 717s will go when they are all flying for DL within the next 3 years, while at the same time 210 50 seaters are parked. About 140 fewer RJs will not be on the ramps when the 3 years are up. Those CRJ "9"s will be seeing smaller cities, as 717s cover their current routes. Mainline recapturing previous routes. Ah, a great thing, as you guys dump 17 AT cities for good.
When I stated "hold the line" it was regarding your pay and benefits. Everyone hopes you do, except maybe GK, and he seems bent on returning to true LCC status. Looking at your costs, I bet he thinks they resemble a Legacy's instead of a LCC. I hope you guys "hold the line" as previously stated.
And, I don't work weekends or holidays usually, unless it's raining "Green", and then I still run it by my family. I've got two barbeques over the next couple days, so it's unlikely. Have a good one Red.
