What about the 75/76. I thought that was going to be an option? Anybody knows future plans for August classes?
Anyone have the class breakdown from what other airlines/military they came from?
I know of 3 from ASA. Don't know any other info.
DAL should hire more from ASA in my opinion after they supported the furloughees a few years back. Good for them.
I read that 5-6 newhires got the domestic 757/767 out of ATL a few classes ago.
Delta has hired alot of ASA people and will continue to do so. Glad to have them.
They'll be able to bid the 75/76 as well as any other fleet during a system wide advance entitlement. One is scheduled in early August, chances are if they want to fly the 75/76 they'll get it, but for the meantime, the MD88 and 737-800 are the new hire options for initial training.
I was told 4 newhires were awarded DOM 757/767 FO a couple classes ago.
Bye Bye--General Lee
They might have been awarded the 757/767 with an advanced entitlement while in training, but I know of no new hire that got anything other than the 88 and 800 without first having the positions proffered through a system wide bid.
You guys will like to know this.
DAL has been awarding the seniority in class incorrectly. The contract stipulates that seniority will be awarded by the last four of your ssn. It also stipulates that it will go from highest to lowest. They have been doing the numbers in reverse for the first 8 classes or so. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Over 130 pilots have been assigned numbers that violate the CBA. This also may affect some of the AE's.
What a mess!! I wonder if the company will ask for a LOA retroactive to Jan 1st, 2007?
Also, do you get a PIC type rating when you complete training, or SIC only?
I am sure that the ones that already in class with numbers will keep them. It would be a legal nightmare to do it any other way. Plus all the ones screwed are on probation and do not have a say or legal right to anything, so they can do what they want. We are at will employees.

Have you guys been able to keep the well known rjdc losers out. If so, it would be nice to have a list for when Northworst starts to hire we can blackball them or at least make sure they don't finish probation.
What do you mean guys, when you say you can hold a different equipment out of training. Does it mean, as soon as you finish your checkride, you go right back to training, or do you have to fly the A/C a specific amount of time. It just doesn't make sense for DAL to pay for two training cycles within 5 months.
Also, if anybody goes to class today, please let us know what's the deal on seniority, some of us, are now worry......not reallly, but I really want to know.

From the DELTA contract:
"New-hires will be assigned seniority numbers on the basis of the last four digits of each individual's social security number. Individuals with the HIGHER numbers will be assigned the LOWEST seniority number".
When I read this I think it means 9999 should be the junior guy. Having LOW seniority means you are at the bottom... doesn't it (i.e. LOW guy on the totem pole). The guy with the lowest seniority is at the bottom. I could be wrong. And I certainly understand why there is confusion. Perhaps there should have been an example given.
Anyone in the current class with info please keep us updated. I'm interested in knowing if you had to re-bid.
