Speaking of, Omaha's good enough for Peyton but not you Lee?
Dbag always chasing the wide body carrot-

Looks like you will never know Wave. No, you didn't fly the good INTL trips at your previous Legacy.... You are now stuck with the OMA, LBB, and MAFs...

Bye Bye---General Lee

You mad I'm better than you bc I didn't fly in the military?
;)
Back on the meds scooter!
Mad? Hardly Doosh bag! Just pointing our your continued hypocrisy and lowering of the bar you pay for training sellout troll! Back to the playground azzwipe!

This was on the other forum;
Working the same number of days, the average SWA Captain made a little over $50K more in total compensation than I would have made as an MD-88/90 Captain at Delta.

Or put another way, for the year I worked 24 days MORE than the average SWA Captain, and I made $14,000 LESS.

With all the money they have laying around there is no excuse for the above.

If your only yardstick is pay, and you live in base, then you might be right; but for a commuter, a commutable 21 hour 4 day is better than a non-commutable 21 hour 3 day.

The 21 hour four day has the Company providing the hotel, per diem and usually some rig. The three day will have more flying, shorter layovers, less rig, and the Pilot paying for the hotel.

My trips this month all end with one leg to base on the last morning, finishing around 9:00 a.m. Two hours' flying, four hours' pay, and it gets me home before noon . . . . I'd take that over a non-commutable three day that flew 7 hours a day.

This is ridiculous, it sounds to me that Southwest has better rigs. As a Delta pilot I think instead of trying to find fault with their flying etc why don't we work together and make every company a better place to work.

The fact that we have Delta pilots saying how great things are is why we can't be paid what we were back in 2000.

We have plenty of crappy trips int'l that pay low and are unproductive.

The company pulls out the rest facilities for example on the 330 and Delta pilots don't blink and sit in the back with the passengers.

Our pay "raise" is funded by a reduction in profit sharing....how stupid is that?

Now we are making billions!

Don't believe the rose colored glasses.

Stop trying to apply logic here.

If you can't turn ANY discussion into a SWA vs DL bash-fest, regardless of the original subject, then you have no place here on FI. You have to ignore anything positive about the other airline, because it might lessen your rant, and bonus points if you can work in some extraneous-yet-idiotic comment about LBB, or some other General-esque bullshyte.

Try again--I know you can do better :)

Agreed.. instead of insisting that we be paid as well as SWA pilots
(good for you guys!!!)
on similar equipment fools follow company BS and claim we are too different.

I believe SWA has a much better 401K match also?

They are the reason we accept a 3% increase and call it a "raise".
Even though its way below what it was in 2000.

Then brag about a 48 hour layover?

Wow

on the downside, it occurs to me if guys keep picking up white/green slips, the airline could reduce useless reserves and trim staffing at the airline.

All part of the plan...
Keep the pay low and guys will whore themselves out. (and do)

who cares about reserve pilots?

I get mine pull up the rope.

Never's a long time GL

You know what I am? Happy.

That's good even if you think you wouldn't like my job, right GL?

GL, you're friends, are they brand-new that they get stuck with 5 leg trips? Im about 5 yr seniority. That's not even half way up the FO seniority. (crazy!) If it blocks more, then a 3 day normally pays 22-24.

Im a fan of DL. It's a great company and I enjoy their product.

I do enjoy staying close to home and working for SWA. It's also a great place to be, and the schedule is flexible. I can work high hours for high dollars, or take it easy for 19.5 3day trip.

Kind of like when you bring up the Dakar or Accra overnight to the General and he stays 'those are JFK overnights', so be basically he doesn't care. He's got his. Same with the domestic lines. He could care less about low they pay or how bad the rig. If you don't like it, don't bid it in his world. But wait, someone has to fly it!

I never understood why they cut the profit sharing back and voted in even larger RJs, especially when all the CRJ200's needed to be re-engine'd on Delta's dime. Several million dollars (read leverage) and DALPA gave them a pass. Sad really.

Redflyer:
Spot on, most people get it but the koolaide level is at Jim Jones strength for some. (guess who)

Junior guys forced to fly to the African shi#holes with no extra pay for malaria exposure...

Plenty of extra special deals for the hometown insiders as well.

It is a poisoned well.

We left millions of back pay on the table, lost profit sharing, the list goes on...

Complain? Dalpa's response was shut down our forum.
Pull up the rope.

Don't rock the boat I got mine.

Those look like very productive trips, most of ours aren't even close to that....

Are you junior in category? You should bid something that makes you senior in a smaller plane. Btw, the DL pilots are in the middle of a 3 year contract that did give an almost 20% raise, and with these profits, there is a great chance for MORE and better work rules to boot. It's going to continue to improve, and Consolidation has helped make everyone stronger and more profitable. Throw in 5,000 retirements in the next 10 years, and yeah, it's getting better.

That is great you enjoy it. I'm glad for you. My friends tend to work pretty busy 3 and 4 day trips, and most have plenty of legs. To me, that sounds tiring. The older I get, the fewer legs I want to fly. Your trips can be super productive, but an INTL 2 leg trip with three or more pilots seems a heck of a lot easier. Staying close to home is important to some for different reasons, but I can "face to face " call with my smart phone from Dayton or Dusseldorf. You just have to be aware of the local time back home. When I fly, I want to walk up to the gate and look at the Widebody at the gate and read "Buenos Aires" or "Paris CDG". That means I'm actually "going somewhere." But, I'm glad you enjoy your job, and I mainly post to remind perspective wannabes the differences between different airlines. Getting hired at your LAST airline is very important, and you need to be well informed. Thanks for your post.

But it'll fall on deaf ears- at delta you're not a real pilot until your flying "heavy iron"

They stood out in High School as the dorks who didn't fit in, bullied and insecure. They swore that one day they would show everyone, now they talk about the only thing they can point to in their pathetic lives, Mother Delto. How do you know that your neighbor is a Delto pilot, don't worry, he'll let you know.

Obbbbbsessss much? Caution Wake Turbulence! You are soooo jealous it hurts, I bet. Oh well. You can always apply, lots of retirements coming up.

How do you know your neighbor is a Corndog? He's the guy wearing his Fonzi jacket, looking exhausted, driving his Porsche around the neighborhood mumbling "one more Lubbock layover and I'll puke. What was that website to apply to a Worldwide airline again?"
