We'll see. There's no way these training programs are nearly as tough as AF training. From what I've heard, the pass rate is pretty much 100%.

On a somewhat related note, do they have some sort of Distinguished Graduate program for new hire training at Delta? If so, is it like for the very top guy or the top 10% or so of the class?

I will give you that the air force produces some awesome pilots. They also produce their fair share of squares too. Just like everywhere.

I know the air force is great at ramming six weeks of course work it to six months. ---TOOL

Its time to get rid of this Idiot if the moderators on this board would do their job he would be gone.

Tanker Clown, How long have you been at Southwest? I just figured out that you are an employee of Southwest Airlines.

Ahhh Sorry Charlie, Tanker Deush doesn't have enough flight time yet to even apply. Don't assume this ego freak is on our senority list please. Unless the O 5 plus is a FA????

poopi, why do you think I should be gone? Because I'm proud of my AF service and I think AF guys are the best pilots? Or is it because I think that safety should always be the primary focus? Maybe instead of worrying about me, you should accept that it's a free country and I'm voicing my opinion on a public forum. I do this all without being vulgar or violating the forum rules. If you don't like my posts, please feel free to use the ignore function.

1. I never said he was a pilot for Southwest.

2. How would you know how much flight time he has?

3. Who said I was assuming anything?

So, what am I...luggage handler? Scheduler? Wait a minute...I'm in the pilot hiring department. Boy...wouldn't some of you guys be sorry if that was the case.

Wow... and to think you dare hang out here on FI with us mere mortals, "holier-than-thou" .

BTW ... I've never left a paved surface, no dents, scratches ... NOTHING in over 8000 hours....

but ALSO ... (KNOCKING ON WOOD .... AS I TYPE)

You can say whatever you want about my flight time, but at least i've never left a prepared surface. Safety is paramount for me. Maybe instead of giving me a hard time, you should focus on doing things right.

I think TC is actually Gayken coming on here trying to pick up guys..... Gayken and his "fog".

I love non-concrete answers.

If you hit your gates [yes, time-phased] properly through the first 10-11 years [assuming that long at least since you're 'higher than an 04--and an embarrassment to the Field Grade Officers to wit], flying a tanker or transport platform, you should have twice that flying time [correlation btw flying and years pretty stable]. Alas, so weak...

...in all your posts I've not seen one specific. Guess all that playing around on your computer keeps you busy with fiction...

So the airplane slid off the runway during turn off? At what speed? Good to hear everything was OK, kudos to the crew.

Tanker, you really have no friends, do you? Sorry Delta didn't hire you. I am glad actually.
Good luck in your endeavors and stop embarrassing our fine military.

Not to defend Tanker clown but I do know a guy who did over 20 years in the Air force, everything from A-6's to A-10's and at the end of his career he only had around 5000 hours of flight time. I think harrier pilots average about 8 hours a month.

Was he on an exchange program?

This was kind of an old thread to get revived. Or did Song put another one in the dirt?

The hubris shown by this TankerClown character is mind blowing. I must conclude that he is a pure flamebaiter, as no real pilot I have ever known would ever be so tempting of fate.

Well, there was this one guy I knew... But he won't be spouting of anymore since he is dead, along with the three people he had with him.

TankerClown, just on the off chance you are real, could you please teach me a thing or two? After a mere 9 years of flying a little turboprop through the obviously gentle weather of the Northeast and Great Lakes, I am sure you would have much to teach me. Not that I ever expect to match your awesome skills.

Banked? No. I did an internship at the Pentagon and was a Senator's aid for a while though. I was already a pilot then.

Senator Larry Craigs intern! WOW! That most of been fun. Did he make you pitch, or did you have to do all the catching?
