I think your on to somthing. Also in the LOA Comair pilots have to be integrated into a new companies senority based off of hire date, as well as our contract can't be changed.

Can you post the contract language in your LOA that states that?

in most contracts the Allegheny/Mohawk LPPs (Labor protective provisions) require the "pilots to go with the planes"

I'll post the Allegheny Mohawk LPPs in a moment.

Just a reminder...
ALPA merger policy doesn't address date-of-hire. It's based on career expectations with no windfalls.

Realistically a regional/regional merger of two airlines of similar size and scope would most likely go slotted date-of-hire with fences.

But in the case of a merger with Skywest (nonunion) or Chautauqua (Teamsters) all bets are off.

Look at TWA/AA...

Labor Protective Provisions: http://216.156.32.93/Allegheny%20Mohawk%20LPPs.htm

Section 3 and 13 apply to seniority integration.

As you can see, if the acquiring airline does not have a collective bargaining unit section 13 would be difficult to apply.

If the collective bargaining units DIFFER ... well, just ask a TWA pilot what he thinks about the Allegheny Mohawk LPPs.

They're better than nothing, but they are a WORST CASE SCENARIO that is designed to "protect" you if there is not strong enough successorship or fragmentation language in your PWA.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhh SNAP! And SkyWest isn't an ALPA carrier..... What is the merger policy of a non-ALPA carrier? Looks like the Brasilia FOs could be CR7 captains really quick..... Oh Snap!

Bye Bye--General Lee

Oh snap?? haven't heard that since junior high

If Delta appoints the General to be their CEO, maybe they'll be better off.

He seems to have a solution to every problem of every airline.

No effect at all and thank you for asking. ALPA still has a duty to Comair and ASA pilots regardless of the corporate structure.

If you're not just feigning interest in order to make disparaging remarks about a lawsuit you don't understand, here's our fact sheet from last September:

General Lee = Kip Dynamite (Napoleon's brother)

General Kip: "RJ pilots, your just mad because I've been online all day talking on Flight info.com".

General Kip: "I have a 4:00 chat room meeting today"
Uncle Rico: "How long is that"?
General Kip:"I don't know, sometimes they last 3 or 4 hours".

As soon as I saw Kip on the computer in that movie, I thought, jeez there is the general.

You have to be the biggest idiot around. Your fact sheet is a pile of lies. Something you and your rjdc pals are notorious for!

General, do yourself a favour, don't get the movie. I didn't understand it at all. I think it might be a generation thing.

Didn't you know that's because of those over paid greedy mainline pilots!?

I have nothing but love for mainline. good luck to all involved.

Pensions?

I think that Delta will go after mainlines pension plan. This announcement has been alluded to in the past, so nothing new. But the severity dispayed might mean that Delta has something planned. Maybe more shrinking of mainline (which I highly doubt), or further conssessions from ALL of us. It looks like it will be a rocky road ahead. If U can hang on as long as they have, then I think Delta can pull out of this.
