What's the latest on the merger?????

So, I read in a recent B&CA mag that Seagrave is now President of the combined company. That can't be too good....

What's the latest news? Better situation? Do the pilots still have the same crap job security that they did under the original Seagrave? When new pilots are added, are they added according to which aircraft owner needs to add a pilot (i.e., a G200 owner needs an FO and the pilot is hired by the owner under his terms ---- or, does Delta Air Elite handle the hiring, salary, benefits, etc.?)? Also, can a newhire pilot live anywhere and float to the aircraft or do you have to move to the location of the owner's aircraft?

What happened to all of the Hawker 1000s? Still operating?

Thanks for any update.

Saw this company is running an ad stating they are accpeting applications. Can anyone provide info on the company such as pay, bennies, schedule and other life issues. Thanks in advance for any info.

I believe you can for the most part live anywhere you want when it comes to a DAE managed aircraft in fleet deployment. If it is just a owner managed aircraft, then you stay with the aircraft. Just the same, pay is based on which side of the coin you are on. I know Segrave pilots took a pay cut when it all became DAE. If it is an owner managed aircraft then pay is set by the owner and what you can negotiate.

Hawker 1000s have been gone for along time now. Lears, Beechjets, Challengers, Gulfstreams, and Hawker 800s are what it is all about these days. The exception being a CJ, C560, and a couple C750s.

Old "News Flash"!

The word is Segrave is down to 11 planes. Well Jim, who is the problem. It is not the Pilots. Wake the F%$k up. It's the puddle pirate. No one respects him, he is destroying your company. Fire his dumb a$$ and watch the turn around.

I doubt the puddle pilot is still around, and for the Segrave Fleet, it is probably made up of training aircraft. As for Jim, he is the President of Delta Air Elite, so I think he must have woke up and smelled the roses.

Delta Air Lines Acquires Segrave Aviation to Expand Private Business Jet Operations

CINCINNATI, Jan. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Delta AirElite, has acquired Kinston, N.C.-based Segrave Aviation. The all-cash transaction will double the size of the Delta AirElite fleet and improve Web-based booking and the travel experience for fleet membership card and charter customers.

"This is an excellent opportunity to couple Delta AirElite's award-winning product and scheduling flexibility with Segrave's leadership in online flight management and operations control," said Wayne Aaron, Delta's vice president - Corporate Strategy and Business Development. "The Segrave acquisition supports Delta's strategy to offer differentiated products and services to our high value customers."

Delta is the only U.S.-based carrier with commercial and private jet service, enabling customers the ability to design their travel plans with the combined reach and convenience of an on-call fleet and the world's largest commercial airline network. Delta AirElite offers customers the ability to earn SkyMiles and immediate Medallion qualification up to Diamond status, further integrating Delta's commercial and private jet product offering to high value customers.

"Coupling Delta's world-renowned brand and reputation for service with Segrave's history as an innovator in private jet operations is a natural fit for the customers who have long counted on Segrave and Delta AirElite," said Jim Segrave of Segrave Aviation. "All of us at Segrave look forward to our new partnership with Delta and the opportunity to grow this exciting segment of Delta's business."

Segrave Aviation began operations in 1994 from Kinston, N.C. Today, it directs a fleet of managed aircraft specializing in wholesale charter aviation services, private aircraft management, aircraft maintenance and fixed base operations.

Delta AirElite, which operates a fleet of owned and managed aircraft, was established in 1984 and is based in Cincinnati. Delta AirElite was named 2009 "Best Private Jet Service" by Executive Travel Magazine. More information is available by calling 877-DAE-JETS (877-323-5387) or by visiting www.AirElite.com.

Just a quick message. Been there 6 months. Going through some growing pains. It gets better with each rotation. A very good place to work. The old Segrave mentality is quickly going away. We are busy. New name is Delta Private Jets.

Jr. is still a sleezebag. Always has been. Always will be. The ability to be "bought out" having not even owned any of the equipment and weasel into the president's chair of what was a better company (DAE) than his dad's is a testament to his suave and charismatic ability to bend you over before you even know what is happening to you. Owners of DAE Aircraft wouldn't give him the time of day 5 years ago and now he oversees their aircraft?

Curious what a pathetic economy like BO has orchestrated does to people.

THE KMAN IS ON KRACK. DPJ IS A SHELL OF THE FORMERLY PROFESSIONAL DELTA AIRELITE. JS AND HIS SIDEKICK, THE ADMIRAL (hey, anybody got the nerve to tell him the Coast Guard is part of the Department of Transportation, not the military-so I won't be salutin')ARE INEPT AND WILL BE THREE TIME FAILURES AFTER DPJ IS SHUTDOWN BY DELTA. SEGRAVE AVIATION-failed. PEGASUS AIRELITE-failed. DELTA PRIVATE JETS-next.
AND FOR THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN TO KINSTON, SUFFICE IT TO SAY THE EMPTY FIELDS ADJACENT TO THE AIRPORT INDICATE THE ADMIRAL IS A FOUR TIME FAILURE..........

NEXT QUESTION...............

JS is a con artist plain and simple. He got his debt covered by Delta and is now flying around on DPJ jets while the entire scheme he sold Delta on is collapsing. He is a ******************************bag who flies to ATL to a meeting with his pilots to tell them they are losing 10%+ of their salary and their PTO while he sports a sunburn from his recent VACATION to MIA. DO AS I SAY, NOT AS I DO, ISN'T THAT RIGHT JS-or should I say JA-AS YOU TRULY ARE A JACKASS.

LET THE UNIONIZATION BEGIN. THE SUITS IN ATL WILL NOT LOOK FAVORABLY ON ANOTHER UNIONIZED EMPLOYEE GROUP................

The DO was asked today if he thought that putting pilot pay cuts based on aircraft hours wouldn't negatively impact safety (flying broken airplanes, in wx that maybe you shouldn't go in, that kind of stuff) and he said "absolutely but we have to do what we have to do".

I guess it's worse than I thought.

...I wonder if JS, the puddle pirate, the DO, CP, etc. are taking 10% paycuts as well?

I just have to say, I feel really bad for you guys that are actually employed at DPJ/SAI. I've never been so happy to be "self employed" in my life.

He later stated that it's the economy that is dictating this pay/hours issue. Said that if the pilot market were turned around, they'd have to change policies and pay to attract qualified individuals. But for right now, they can get away with it so they are doing it.
