Last weekend I became aware that Garmin had, back in May 2023, introduced a GSA 28 servo service life extension program. It seems that Garmin had found that a batch of GSA 28 servos manufactured between September 2021 and January 2022 had been built with one or more substandard parts. Garmin initially issued service bulletin 22016 for these specific serial numbers.

Later Garmin issued two more service bulletins, 23024 Rev A for type certificated aircraft, and 23038 Rev A for experimental aircraft. These SB offer free replacement of a wide range of GSA 28 servos with the offer effective for 5 years after the date of the SB. This covers servos with expired warranty and regardless of time in service. This program ends May 2028.

While doing the research on this program I collected a list of references that may be useful. There may be some duplication and the references are not in date order.
