DAL737FO - You are furloughed and you do not understand how limiting demand for a pilot's services below supply ( you personify the excess supply ) results in concessionary bargaining? As you pointed out ASA and Comair are just one of seven players. The flying will go to the most cost effective airline.

We need a system scope solution to solve our mutual problem.

Fins,

I agree with you, but limiting the number of higher paying jobs is not good. Without scope, the company would sell all mainline aircraft except for 10 777s, and have 1500 RJs---that require less pay. Some people already believe that they will NOT be a part of the next Delta hiring bonanza (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE)---and want to increase the RJs at any cost. The rest of us know that we need to keep as many mainline jets on the property as possible---and many will eventually benefit when they are hired after the furloughs return.

N2246J,

Dalpa does not determine who gets what when it comes to the DCI flying. They did come up witha scope number or percentage, and actually really increased it after 9-11---to your benefit. I don't know if DCI has even hit that greater percentage yet. But, the NEW flying will be doled out to the lowest cost provider---and Delta, not Dalpa, is pressuring you now. Who can you go to for help? Good question. You have pissed off Delta due to your long strike 2 years ago, and Dalpa isn't really happy with the RJDC thing. I don't know----Delta will give the flying to whoever cuts costs the most. Good luck.

Bye Bye--General Lee:rolleyes:

Just curious. Is the CRJ 700 a common type with the 50 seat CRJ? If it is, do most 70 seat drivers also fly the 50, or do you have a separate list? Do you still log it as CL 65?

I don't know if there would have been a ratio--like 75% of each class comes from DCI---but I bet that would have worked---for all of us.
Why not 100%? Oh that's right, gotta save some seats for former squadronmates.
