100 less 50 seaters by this time next year. (More 76 seaters on the way)

Not yet.
They can also buy more 70's if they want to.
Also for every mainline jet we get DCI gets three more 76 seaters.
So 10 777 and 15 737-700's equals 75 more 76 seat jets.
Up to 255 total.

I assume they are retiring 88's at the same time? I understand the 3 more 76 for 1 mainline is off of a base fleet number. The more 70-76 seats the less major jobs :-( oh well I guess we all have that pilot shortage to look forward too.

By my count here is whats flying now or scheduled to be delivered:

Comair = 18
Pinnacle = 16
Mesa = 14
Mesaba = 36
Compass = 36

That totals 120 76-seaters. I have heard that Skywest has also converted their -900s to the 76 seat configuration instead of 70 seats.

I wouldn't expect fleet growth after the merger. One thing that has never happened in the history of airlines is a net increase in capacity after a merger.

I would agree that the 70 seat market is still wide open for a good number of those aircraft to go into service. I would expect to see an additional pull down of 50-seaters in exchange for 70-seaters.

What I can't figure is how come they are giving all the growth to Pinnacle-I mean, really? Are you serious? Let's be frank, there are better options with a much better reputation.....

From a corporate perspective what are the better options?

Do you think Pinnacle will be one of the DCI after the merger?

Yes. Do you think otherwise? If so, what is your reasoning?

Well it looks like being wholly owned is working well for Comair. NOT!

It's anybodys guess what happens in the next year. Other than Delta is going to have 40% of the RJ fleet.

ASA has improved drastically in the last 9 months. Delta wont even throw us a bone. So doing a good job dosen't help either. It's all about what we cost!

I give it 6 months and we are going to hear we cost to much. Unless oil goes to $60.00 a barrel

What were they going to throw us? Over the past 9 months Delta's done nothing but cut and cancel regional contracts. Our 900 program isn't even completed yet either. We all just need to be patient at ASA.

(Yeah, just go ahead and ignore the 16 at RAH.) ;)

You know why our 900 program isn't complete? We don't have any airplanes to get it certified.
