It's not exactly the same attachment on the 700/900 but it's similar. Some have the same popping noise. When you hear about wing cracks on the 900s they are referring to cracks in the bearings in those dog bone mounts.

The nose strut is fully extended as soon as you lift off, I've never heard that explanation. Among the weird noises you hear in these airplanes is the cycling of the packs, you can hear an ACM spool down and spool up usually around 18,000'. It gets your attention if you notice it.

I hear a loud pop during climbing turns sometimes. Then I always reach up and hang onto the escape hatch handles in case the floor drops out from below me.
 
I thought it was the cart donkeys getting up from their jumpseats.
