3 crew would include the FA wouldn't it? He/She would be in the only FA JS for T/O and landing. Unless Chinese CRJ200s have an additional FA JS somewhere, there is no provision to have a 2nd FA seat.

I have heard of some FA's sitting on each other's laps before.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.......
There is an option for another FA JS at the rear by the lav so you could have two overnight refreshment centers on board.

All the ex-Midway CRJ's at ACA had the aft FA jumpset installed as well as an aft interphone...all "deactivated" of course...so yes, could have literally 5 crew seats in addition to pax seating. Of course a political officer, etc could be sitting in a pax seat also. In other words, the numbers make sense.

Wasn't China Eastern the airline that contracted with the Comair Academy for Ab Initio Training?
You mean the ones who didn't need information "Hotel" because "Comair buy me nice apartment".?

First of all, my condolences to the families of the crewmembers and passengers, as well as all those at CEA. Just because they're in a different country on the other side of the world, doesn't mean we should feel any differently about the situation. People lost lives, regardless of who was flying it or where. We tend to feel less for those in third world countries and tend to point fingers more at stupidity and lack of common sense. From the news report, it sounds like a mechanical or terror related accident. Godspeed to the crew, we're sure you did everything you could in what little time you had.

Now, to answer "Jeanette"'s question.....

You mean the ones who tore up half of the C172RG's?

You mean the ones who involuntarily cancelled IFR with the following transmissions.....(APCH) "Cutlass XXX say Altitude." (CEA) "All-tih-tood". (APCH) "Cutlass XXX say Altitude." (CEA) "All-tih-tood". (APCH) "Cutlass XXX say Cancel IFR" (CEA) "Can-sale IFR" (APCH) "Cutlass XXX, squawk 1200, cancellation received".

You mean the ones who were allowed to solo the Seminoles and grounded most of them because of stupidity?

You mean the ones who tore up the runway lights to 9C?

Yup, that's them.

okay people...

Not that I am unimpressed by all of your knowledge of all the seating congiurations on a CRJ-200, but for Chr:st's sake put your seat-belted weiners away. No wonder people think you pilots are a bunch of nerds.

You people are amazing. I wonder how you'd do if you had to communicate to a controller in Chinese.

If they were allowed to "solo the Seminoles" and grounded them due to "stupitidy", who was stupid - the student allowed to solo or the instructor that allowed it?

The irrational criticism of foreigners speaks volumes regarding the intellect of the critics.
