What kind of beer are you drinking in the afternoon? Maybe you should go back to flying and quit being such a boozehound.
Yikes! We got a tough crowd on these boards... By the way, the beer is 6-month old Milwaukee's worst - tastes like water with a hint of beer flavor to it...

53 people on a CRJ-200? Does that sound accurate or do they operate CRJ-700s? I know that many Chinese airlines employee very low-time FOs and typically high time Captains. I guess it is too early to speculate on causes... R.I.P.
The 200 sits 50 + 3 crew.

50 pax seats
3 required crew
1 cockpit jumpseat
1 fa jumpseat
and
02 masks for another 12 lap babies

67 possible legal souls on board. (+ the hatian in the cargo bin)

Inconsiderate

I am amazed at the posts here. On another CRJ crash thread people were highly offended by the slander/jokes about their crews and asked to respect those who had passed. But since it's in China it must be ok.

It's the WORLD WIDE WEB folks. Let's show a little tact?

Face-saving action only. It must be the fault of the gwei's defective plane. It could not be the fault of the glorious People's Civil Aviation Authority-trained pilots. And so they will remain grounded until we uncover the reason Canada caused this plane to crash. Or until we find another politically acceptable way to save face.

SOP in Asia.
Interesting..... Any other crashes that were reported on this board, and everybody was like " prayers for the crew and the family", and " peace with the crew..." Blah blah blah. And then I guess these people deserve much less. In fact, I guess all they deserve is our not factual, stereotype judgement (even as the reckage is still burning). I guess when one doesnt have experience with certain things, its much quicker to assign blame. For all I know, the crew could have been leased Americans or Canadians.

Captain: Wang Pin; First Officer: Yang Guang; Second Officer: Yi Qin Wei; Cabin Crew: Huang Chong Yan, Shi Mei Mian; Inflight Security Officer: Jiang Chao Hong.

Chinese crew. Even had an S/O, probably FO in training up front.

Oh, thanks for clarifing, I could see how they deserve no sympathy and our judgmental blaming right from the start. Those bastards!

DiverDriver & Trash 8--

Grew up in a colony that is now Chinese. Half my family is Chinese. Not making fun of them--I am them.

Never said it was the crew's fault. Said that the grounding is political--just as the FAA will protect the interests of the ATA here, the CAAC will protect the system first. If the crew were alive they would be under confinement. Since they aren't, something external must be held suspect until proven otherwise. That's the way it is in Communist China--like it or not.

Spare the PC lecture. You are taking offense when none was given.

50 pax
3 crew
cockpit js
fa js
11 lap children (can't have 'em in the exit row, in the US anyway)
66 total legal pax

3 crew would include the FA wouldn't it? He/She would be in the only FA JS for T/O and landing. Unless Chinese CRJ200s have an additional FA JS somewhere, there is no provision to have a 2nd FA seat.

I have heard of some FA's sitting on each other's laps before.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.......
