I believe that XJET bid the DAL flying at cost. Wondering how they could actually be more expensive????????

This question goes out to MasterShaker- since Mesa, Republic, Comair, and ASA are short crews and Expressjet has extra planes and crews that they are scrambling to find homes for, did you ever give thought to maybe Expressjet got the LA flying because they are the only ones with extra planes and pilots capable of giving the lift right now? No, didn't think so. It's a great foot in the door for Express Jet so they can keep flying instead of parking (pilots, planes or both). It also works out great for Delta since, as of right now, no other of it's carriers has extra planes and pilots to fly those routes. Delta needed lift, Express Jet needed work.

Who said anything about Scrambling to find homes for airplanes? CAL just asked us to keep planes in CAL colors a little longer because of the many problems CHQ (operational, mgmt, not pilots) are having. Has anyone told you why CHQ is on a probational notice with CAL? Its really a fun story!!

About the DAL flying, we were awarded that flying last year, follow me here, ASA started ops in LAX last year to hold the gate space till XJT could get the planes out of the CAL system. It really sucks for the ASA guys who went out there and i feel bad for them, but this was Big D's plan all along. Think about it. As soon as our planes are fully out of service from CAL they are going strait to the DAL flying and ASA goes back to ATL. It was all a smoke screen till we could get out there. The good thing for the ASA guys was those planes werent on the Chopping block just displaced. Thats all for this edition tune back in next time for "Days of our Airlines!":eek:

Back this up with something. You can't. Delta has no reason to be unhappy. Even CAL is not as unhappy as you think. Not that I really give a ******************** which mainline is happy or not with us.

But if you are in line with a smile to get more Delta flying than you can have it all as far as I am concerned. I fly on the DAL side all the time in CVG. I have yet to see a CHQ pilot who likes to fly for them due to horrible schedules and constant market shifting. (On the upside their ground operation is great especially Comair's. Too bad that won't give you days off.) I am not mad at DAL for this. I can see what they are trying to achieve. It is simply the regional world at its best. Short legs, quick turns, longs sits, min days off and new players on the horizon. Players who will do it for less and DAL is doing a great job playing them against each other.

I just keep scratching my head when I fly with someone who does not want to move on. (Except the 45+ years old CA who is too old and too senior to do so.) But hey! One less ahead of me!

Regionals are no different than instructing was. Sign up, learn something, get your time and get out. If you stay enjoy the consequences. F me if I will stay any longer than the very 1st offer after 1000PIC from

1. a decent company

or

2. a not decent company that would add to my resumee and get me closer to #1

And if I don't get #1 before this hiring boom peaks than I am out. I will definitely not do 18-19 ON 12 OFF with a commute for the rest of my life.

Lately the morale took a dive at RAH due to things that have been discussed here plenty times. Attrition will be pretty darn high this summer. And that is how it should be at every regional. Many oldtimers who used to be lifers are bailing. God bless them! I am just sitting here looking at dlnet and trying to figure out how am I going to commute up to CVG from Florida this summer to enjoy my min days off, and take a pay cut for the cancelations that are ahead due to crew shortages. Completion factor ROFL... We will need a miracle. I expect Reverend BadboyBrian to be in Church a lot by right around the end of July. He will be off Viagra by then for sure.
 
No I don't kid....how do you know there was no captian? Do you work for republic as a gate agent or are you hearing this 2nd hand like most of your posts sound?

Heres a fun story-

Oh before you ask it is credible because i was there, The other day in IAH there i was sitting on the hardstand listening to ops getting ready to go. A CHQ FO clicks on and says "Ops CHQ FLT XXXx whatever, we are all boarded up ready to go, its 15 minutes after departure any word on the Captain? Ops-Yeah he is inbound from PNS. CHQ FO-any idea when he will be hear? Ops- He just took off!! CHQ FO- OH, pause for a few seconds, Well will you let me know when or if we are going to Cancel!!

I sat there and just shook my head, i really feel bad for you guys there at CHQ for not being given the tools needed to be successful.

Lets be honest here though, The Operation in IAH looks like a Dam Circus out on the Hardstands, Half painted planes, old DAL and UAL paint jobs, CRJs, ERJs, I really believe the pilots and crews out there are doing their best but you cant make a peanut butter and jelly sandwhich with only peanut butter! You managment cut back and wont give you the Jelly. Clear as Mudd!!

Don't want it. Don't want CAL flying either. I'm doing the branded thing for a myraid of reasons, most of which you touched on already.

As far as backing up my Delta statement...well what difference does it make? If I tell you who I've talked to, you'll just say I'm wrong. It is as pointless as a dog chasing it's tail.

Good for you. Must be more fun than CVG-TRI-CVG all day everyday.

I doubt your statement because numbers don't show that we are doing any worse or a whole lot better than any other regional for DAL. But I agree. It is indeed pointless because it makes no difference wheather DAL likes us or not. Nothing will change! Freedom is the prime example. How long have I been listening to all kinds of rumors even from friends at Mesa who said they will lose their DAL flying? They still have it. The newest one is: Once DAL will emerge out of Ch11 they will kick out Mesa... yada yada... They won't! Mainline will keep diversifying as long they can make a buck more regardless how well or crappy one does. CAL is no different.

Regionals will always suck compared to anything that resembles mainline. That is the only thing I care about.

When you wake up in the morning do you say to yourself "Man if I talk crap on flightinfo all day and show people how much better xjt is than eveybody else, maybe one day I can be CEO." You are an idiot. Do you think we don't know how bad we are doing, do you think we enjoy showing up at every outstation and getting a earfull from the gate on how bad we are, Do you think we like canceling flights and missing out on pay but still gone from home longer than we were planning? Imagine walking out the door everyday and people telling you how gay you are or asking how you breath with your head so far stuck up your managments butt? They are stating the obvious but do you want to hear it? NO I am not saying you shouldn't be proud of where you work but seriously take your annoying comments to airlinepilotcentral or something
 
Master Shake..Owe you an apology, after tonight and working the CO Express Division flights, I AM EMABARRASSED TO WORK FOR CHQ!!!! Look at 4/22/2007 performance. I am sad for all the hard working Pilots/FA'S and Customer Service Agents who had to face those passengers.

If CHQ wants to succeed in this, what they need to do is reduce the CO Express flying, get the crews, mechanics and their act together and then increase the flying
