Why do some of you DAL guys act like you just have to roll over with scope? I get so tired of seeing you guys just "excepting" scope relief as inevitable. Scope relief is nothing more than giving away your/our jobs!! Wake up

Can I get an AMEN!

Super,

That is their way of putting pressure on us. They could have easily tightend scope on the lower end while making an exception for nwa with loa19. They chose not to, knowing full well that even though they had the most leverage in a long time to tighten scope by not doing anything it will cause furloughs as more 76 seaters replace the 9s thus improving their odds if the sli goes to a nicoli type award. Very shortsighted imho. This is one of those rare times where we had leverage to not allow anymore outsourcing above what is already in service.

I sincerely hope thats not true, i wouldn't doubt it though. Ultimately they would only be hurting themselves in the long run. Nothing like giving your careers away. Anyone with the mentality that scope isnt important needs to wake the Fock up!!

Compass does have a claim to NWA "numbers" ahead of Pinnacle and Mesaba. A contract has been negotiated that says the first 20 pilots hired at NWA must be Compass flow ups. Of coarse the flow ups must be eligible and there are limitations (half the Captains on the list in a rolling 12 month period). This doesn't entitle Compass pilots to anything other than what has already been negotiated.

Compass' flow though agreement will have to be addressed in the merger. I don't really care what happens, but I don't want to be thrown under the bus. If flow through is ended it has to be ended on both ends and flow downs must be removed from the Compass list. This wouldn't be good for anyone.

Well, not really ahead of Mesaba. We've already got guys flowing to NWA. Do you?

How about if we work TOGETHER to improve the situation for all pilot groups?

Remember, divide and conquer is the policy which management successfully uses to beat the pilots.

Mesaba has had people flow already. That was my point. Furthermore, a few more bypassed guys might yet go sometime soon.

Guys, lets face it... Compass is just cannon fodder for the northwest furloughs that are going to happen as a result of all this talk by both DAL and NWA about fuel prices and parking jets.. Sad but true.

This would be an excellent time to clean up the RJ mess.

Beg, borrow or steal, but getting all the flying on one sheet would be a huge leg up, no more whipsaw, everyone has a vested interest in the longevity of "the" company.

This isn't a pissing match. There seems to be a misconception here that Mesaba and Compass are the same company and/or have the same deal. They aren't the same company, though they are owned by the same company. They both have flow-though deals but they are different deals.

If you have an idea how Mesaba and Compass can work together I'll be the first one to sign up. Unfortunately, we have little say over what will happen to us as a result of the merger. When NWA and DAL are negotiating, Mesaba and Compass fall somewhere between what time to do lunch and what uniform wings to use on the priority list. I hope I'm wrong on this, only time will tell.

I would highly doubt the flow through will work as advertised.....not being negative, just looking at facts. Maybe the ones that were hired before the merger will....but...after seems very unlikely if any at all some the 30 month lock.

example : Compass is doing on-site interviews at ATL Air Inc----so essentially anyone who wants to go to Delta ( via Compass and NWA ) should just go get hired there....I HIGHLY doubt it will work that way....just my opinion.....it is simply a recruiting tool that can be snuffed out with merger legalize.

While jumpseating home from Vegas, an NWA ALPA rep told me that the Compass & Mesaba flow thrus were retained & written into the new TA. We shall see.

There is no reason that compass pilots should get any favoratism over any other NW/DL alpa regional pilot. They have not done anything to earn that special privledge.

This talk about how the E175 is the heaviest or biggest is the same thing that got us all in this mess to begin with. So now you guys are to good to have the CR9 on your list. Or the CR2. Now you are still going down the same path of only certain airplanes are worthy of the mighty mainline pilot.

There were thousands of airlink\connection pilots serving NW\DL long before compost guys came along. They have done nothing to earn this windfall.
