The 15 Delta 175's that begin arriving this summer for RAH are all going to be configured exactly the same as the Compass birds. What that means I don't know?

It means the aircraft will have 76-seats. Which means they will also be configured just like Mesaba's CRJ900s.

I wouldn't read too much into it. I think it simply means that Delta would like a consistent 76-seat product across the board.

I can't tell if you're being serious LOL. Either way, I began my career with my fingers crossed, and although my hand is cramping a bit I will not uncross them!
 
On the other hand, there are no restrictions on Compass soliciting business from other airlines.

On the DOT Docket site, there is a recent filing from Compass to remove one of the restrictions on their DOT certificate of something to allow them to solicit flying for other carriers; not just NWA.

I didnt see a decision, just their application...
 
Anderson and Steenland have always kept their regionals under a tight thumb and close to home.

I don't mean them saying, "Your better get your performance up or you will lose/gain flying." They don't care about performance.

I mean they call up Spanjer's and say "We're taking you into bankruptcy, but you'll be better when you come out of it" or call up Tenary and say "We're taking 15 or you aircraft to give to XJ, deal with it."

Any company or CEO that cannot/will not deal with that kind of supervision/management becomes a liability to these guys, and their ASA's could be in jeopardy.

I am not trying to start any kind of bashing here, just stating how these two have operated over the years. Anderson is the reason Bedford left XJ back in 2000, those two never got along.
 
It doesn't make much sense as far as wholly owned goes though. The recent push has been to get away from it. Why change now?

New CEO. Expect an announcement for new paint jobs and FA uniforms to follow.

PS: If the push will be for wholly-owned DCI carriers, DAL has an option to buy ASA back.

ASA's future is dependent on our performance at the 3 and 5 year marks. That's why there is the big push for on-time and all the things to facilitate it. Our agreement was solidified in court, is merger-proof, and cannot be broken as long as we make those goals.
 
In pre-merger announcements, anything will be said that prevents any opposition. Nobody knows what will happen until the deal is done. One thing for sure, there will eventually be hub closures. Politically correct things are being said so as not to provoke opposition to the merger.
 
Im curious why this is good when it comes at the cost of Mainline pilot jobs?

i mean, wouldn't it be worth it to get in now and become part of the worlds largest airline? i dont know if its worth it though cause they fly that saab, i just want the jet sic time!
 
Your going to move up the list much faster at Compass than you will at Mesaba right now just because of the number of people on the senority list verses aircraft deliveries. That being said, the potential for flowbacks at Compass is there. Its all a big gamble. Good luck.
