Rumor control ...

Have heard through the ALPA grapevine in the Delta network that, indeed,
Delta has plans (or thoughts) to sell Compass.

Has anyone heard anything remotely related to this?

Some talkative ALPA national committee guys seem to think it's a sure thing.

Any takers?

If Compass is sold does the flow up agreement stay in tact or could it become null and void if Compass is sold off by DAL??

Buckle up boys, this should be good. Delta is ruthless when it comes to this kinda stuff.

republic will buy compass

Funny you should say that.

The three guys that have told me of the sale all work on ALPA National committees. After their time in DC, they all have returned home and said the same thing.

The one that returned last month said Republic would be the likely buyer.

Don't worry....In typical Delta fashion, they will sell it for a fraction of what it took to create/acquire it.

all their flying are belong to us

SkyWest, Inc. to acquire Compass Airlines

AP...

Not saying i believe this but the Flowthrough goes along with the sale if it ever did happen. IF the flow was ever cancelled, DAL would be forced to reduce the number of 70 or 76 seaters down to 86ish total airframes which is a massive cut from the current numbers. (= unlikely)

Here we go again...

Ah, the old Compass sale rumor... this seems to crop up every year around this time.

Let me summarize how the thread usually moves forward...

Let's not forget that of course Republic would buy us, because they fly the same kind of plane.

Then someone will at some point chime in with, "Well, you gotta admit it makes sense."

Followed shortly by, "Compass' planes are configured the same as Republic's."

There will be a reply about how Delta needs to sell Compass to raise cash for merger related expenses.

Another reply about how Delta is looking to trim the number of regional carriers, and this will help.

Well here is what happened when I was in training with Compass recently:

Several of the HR folks had meetings with Delta folks regarding the hiring process. Apparently Delta is interested in revamping the process to mirror the Delta process, or taking over the process entirely and doing all interviewing in ATL. This was one month ago, first week of February.

Now having been around this industry as long as I have, I know that if one area of the company is looking at one thing, another part of the company is looking at the exact opposite. So who really knows.

NEDude,

No, that's me after five airlines, three furloughs, and a reduced rest overnight.
