Actually, if Delta was clever about it, they could make quite a bit of money by selling Comair to Mesa. All they would have to do is then sell tickets and pay-per-view rights to then ensuing cage match between the two pilot groups. There is a lot of money in pay-per-view. Brilliant...

As a Mesa pilot, I personally think that if my employer decided to purchase Comair, it would be fantastic for our pilot group. I don't care if I lose tons of seniority with a seniority list integration. It would all be worth it to bring on board an MEC staff with b@lls, forsight, experience, and unity. From the outside, I think Comair pilots have great unity and my pilot group could learn immensely from their influence.

Believe it or not, Mesa does have the potential to be a decent place to work if our pilot group could only unify; working together to create a better quality of life through negotiation. If something like this should happen, I hope that after the initial shock and sickness of working for JO, that Comair pilots and Mesa pilots could unite and use our assets to make contract '07 150% more pilot friendly than our current piece of toilet tissue we call a CBA.

Contrary to popular belief, Of the 1600 pilots employed by Mesa Airlines, I'd venture to say that only 200 or so are boneheads, but unfortunately they reside in the upper third of the seniority list, and hold seats on the MEC.

Flame if you please, but I think inter-airline bashing and negativity toward one another is counterproductive. (unless in jest, then it's just funny)

Good point, but considering you are in the same seat as me, or at least one a few feet away, you should be quite aware that "a little pain" is quite the understatement.

Don't think I'd worry too much about this one...Johnny O doesn't have the cash Skywest does; and I can't imagine how Delta would benefit from some stock trade style purchase this close to bankruptcy - cash is king right now.

I don't know, I sorta like the IPO idea...think about it, Comair goes out on an IPO in a fairly decent market condition for most airlines (minus the big old ones)....delta retains controlling shares, they could use those shares as leverage, not too mention make some money off the IPO and future rise in share price.....

they would make a heck of a lot more money doing that then selling it to Mesa for 400-500 million......

BINGO! Mesa only has about 250 million in cash. If they were to pull this off they would have to bring in an outside investor. Anything is possible, but I doubt it. -Bean

As a fellow ASA pilot, I have several questions for you.

1. Did Mesaba or XJT pilots stab us in the back when they negotiated sub-CMR contracts AFTER the CMR contract? If so did you voice your opinion to them at the time?

2. Did ACA, ALG, PDT or Air Wisconsin stab us in the back when they negotiated concessions after the CMR contract was signed? If so did you voice your opinion to them at the time?

3. Did the United, Delta, NWA, and CAL pilots stab us in the back when they negotiated concessions after 911? If so did you voice your opinion to them at the time?

4. Did you refuse to fly the CMR aircraft that showed up here at ASA during their strike?

5. Did you thank the CMR pilots for turning down RFP 1 which resulted in them stagnating?

6. Do honestly believe that any single pilot group can unilaterally hold up this mythical "bar" that everyone talks about?

I don't blame CMR pilots - I blame poor union leadership and poor strategic planning on ALPA's part.

DAL is not gonna keep anything they can sell. Even DT and TOC are on the auction block. So much for not shrinking to profitability.

Hey Joe...

Besides pay, I think XJT has the better contract overall but what does that matter when....rumor has it that Delta and NWA are merging, stapling CMR to the bottom and selling those jets to Pinacle and Mesaba...or something like that!

Also heard that J.O. is looking for outside investors to get 73s on property from U...those ought to be good wages! 2 pilots and 3 FAs for a grand total of...drum roll please!.....$150/hr!!!! whoo-hoooo
