I thought he got sent back to the line for screwing that guy out of his CAL job and costing Comair several million dollars.

I sure don't miss that place.


It cost Comair money, but nothing like that. I heard a couple hundred grand. Comair was adamant that they not admit fault, thus he wasn't sent to the line because, thanks to the settlement, he didn't do anything wrong, legally. Something else happened later, and he was given the option to resign as CP and fly the line, or risk being fired if anything more happened in the future. That's the version I heard...

Don't Forget

-Big improvement to the Ovation recognition program.

-Deadheading is actually more efficient and cost effective than an overnight at Best Western.

-Four and five hour sits in outstation terminals is an expected norm for anyone doing a hub and spoke operations.

AND

-We are still too expensive to be competitive
-We will continue to shrink to more profitability


If they are going to make you sit 4-5 hours, they need to give you some place where you can sit! That was such a p!sser for me. Those asshats would put you some place with no chairs in operations, and tell you not to start the APU and sit on the airplane. God I hate CMR management, and I especially hate those effers in Delta management.

Doubt it, I know the guy. He legally can't say how much but I know for a fact it's not in the millions!!!! Why the hell is he still working....?

Who's DMB? I agree that we should celebrate, but who is he?
 
Was the "good ole boy" from Tenn. the point man of the infamous "hat/cover police"-busting new hires that had not even received their "covers"?

The best one is the time he ran up behind a pilot who was carrying his hat under his arm by the turnstiles in terminal one. He snatched the hat out from under the guys arm only to find out it was a Delta pilot. The guy grabbed the hat back out of his hand while short stuff stood there with a dumb look on his face.

I don't think there was a pilot at Comair, myself included, that didn't have a personal story about a run in with him. He was very unprofessional and nothing more then a little sawed off smart a$$.

Uh...I'm not sure a "thousandaire" necessarily has the means to stop working.

On another note. My experience with Comair can be summed up by two experiences, both on my last assigned trip before I was scheduled to be furloughed. The first was a run-in with a chief pilot as I walked into the crew room before the trip. I didn't have a hat on because the hat supplier didn't have any, therefore I didn't own one. The chief stopped me from behind, introduced himself as a chief pilot and asked why I wasn't wearing my hat. I explained it to him and his response was "oh". He wasn't particularly nasty but the fact that he would make a hat an issue four days before a few hundred people were losing their jobs, irritated me and made me wonder if the company really understood the big picture.

On the last day of the trip I received a call from crew scheduling. The next day I was supposed to be out of a job, but I heard a voice on the other end tell me that they were short staffed and wanted to junior man me!! I should have taken that as a sign and never looked back, but I ended up going back for another year and a half and was never really happy.

I figured out what was best for me, eventually, and have been happier since.
