I spoke with two rather reliable sources in the past few days that both independently said Comair will be moving its headquarters to MSP very soon. The office building has already been cleared out in MSP for us. Comair will be operating right next to Mesaba and Compass.

I think without bendover was trying to say this a couple of weeks ago, without spilling to much. But he talked about needing the building and renting some of it out, no need for to be in cvg we won't be there by summer.

No need to move, just close the GO and let someone else manage this place.

I wonder what is keeping them from making the announcement? What could they possibly benefit from withholding that information from us? What will happen to the G.O.? The building is owned by Comair and the property it sits on is leased from the airport.

This is not a secret. Delta is moving all owned regional airlines HQ's to Minnesota to avoid a lawsuit by the state of Minnesota over NWA's headquarters remaining in Minnesota as part of the loan package given to NWA.

The same thing that happened to the Mesaba hangar. It will sit there. Chances are they will not turn off the lights and will wonder why they are still getting an electric bill for an empty building.

Look at the resources available to another airline here in CVG. There are multiple Hangars available, a General Office building available and a Simulator Facility. Oh, forgot to mention an ENTIRE CONCOURSE.

Can you buy an airline in a box. I believe you can. We'll just have to see what it consists of when the economy turns around.

Did you guys notice that the airport is redoing the roof of the Delta hangar just W of 18R? Did you also notice they took the Delta logo/name off the hanger?

I don't think Comair is the only one pulling completely out of CVG.

The reason they haven't made an announcement of the GO move is they don't want the locals to quit before they are ready to fire them. None of the locals will be willing to relocate (nor does Comair want to pay them to relocate) to MSP for a crappy sub $40k job. Only pilots and FAs are stupid enough to do that.

I saw that. I also noticed though that they have repainted the north side of the hangar already, so I imagine they are just finishing up the rest of the building. You can see how bad the paint had faded on that building because even though they took the Delta sign down, you can still read Delta on the building from nearly a mile away.

Not redoing it, fixing it after a year of having a hole in it. It gut struck by lighting last summer. Delta sucks so bad though it took them a year to fix it.

You might be right but it could also be that the hanger just needs mx and taking the logo off is part of the process.

I love these threads! The Delta hangar had it's roof damaged back in September when we got sideswiped by the remnants of Hurricane Ike. They onld did a temp fix back then and are just now getting to the perm rapair. I think they are re-painting the hangar as well and will paint the new Citgo Widget like they did to the hangars in ATL.

This is the first I've heard of moving to MSP; and I have contacts in most departs here at the G.O. We are moving the company servers up to MSP, but it's not near the airport. We're renting space at the same place McDonald's has their servers. I have heard that some back office functions will move up there to the new holding company at the beggining of next year. If Delta wanted us to move up there; they would have announced it when they announced that DCI and Compass were moving up to MSP. When Delta gets their SOC, things going on behind the scenes will start to unravel and we'll have a better picture of what the hell's going on.

It's been announced for a while now. Here's an article from Feb. talking about making RHS, and moving it along with Delta Connection and Compass headquarters to MSP.

January Press release:

They talk about RHS,DCI, and Compass being based in MSP; not Comair. There's no mention of Comair moving it's HQ to MSP in either of those articles. Good try though.

You must have a pretty good source, since they forgot to tell you that MC holdings changed it's name in April. Why don't you stop by there and check out what all of their badges now say. I'll give you a guess...it starts with M.

MCC Holdings? Not much of a guesser, so spill the beans for us Comair guys. We're all interested in any intel anyone has.

The roof was ripped off in that windstorm last sept...i figured if they never fixed it that meant they were leaving it. But now that DElta is fixing it, guess they might be using it for awhile...or getting it ready to sublet...lol!

The KCAB stopped repaving the employee lot. I wish they would open it up since they haven't worked on it in 4 months.

Everyone's Comair badges expires 10/09. Not one peep of renewing them. Usually we get memos MONTHS ahead of time. I guess that our last day is 10/31/09. :)

Also, I noticed that they downsized the vending machines in ops from a Pepsi and Coke to just Coke. Once the Coke machine is gone... we are soon to follow.

Reminds me of the book "Rocket Men", after JFK's challenge to land a man on the moon before the end of the 60's...The NASA employees badges were set to expire on 12/31/1969, just a little reminder.

We changed snack machine venodors. They used to be Sodexho; who did a real crappy job at keeping them stocked. AVI is the new company and stocks the machines twice a week.

Anyone..........? Info is greatly appreciated! I might have to go up there and check it out myself.

All the MC Holdings employees have Mesaba badges. The change happened in April- not a whole lot of press on that.

So how many people (GO employees) do you think will relocate from CVG to MSP. Looks like Delta will get their way once again.

My guess is less than half relocate/decide to commute. We'll see how that gets thrown around in the media when it actually happens.

I think the people of Cincinnati/NKY should be able to vote Delta outta here. After all, what good have they done? The jobs would remain here, because another carrier will eventually jump on all of the empty facilities here.

I know that civil/business leaders from the tri-state area have pleaded with RA to keep the Frankfurt, Rome, and London Gatwick flights in CVG, but RA pretty much told them that they were still going to be discontinued and to suck it up. A buch a fools to believe that Delta wouldn't downsize CVG to a non-hub!
