I spoke with two rather reliable sources in the past few days that both independently said Comair will be moving its headquarters to MSP very soon. The office building has already been cleared out in MSP for us. Comair will be operating right next to Mesaba and Compass.

I think without bendover was trying to say this a couple of weeks ago, without spilling to much. But he talked about needing the building and renting some of it out, no need for to be in cvg we won't be there by summer.

No need to move, just close the GO and let someone else manage this place.

I wonder what is keeping them from making the announcement? What could they possibly benefit from withholding that information from us? What will happen to the G.O.? The building is owned by Comair and the property it sits on is leased from the airport.

This is not a secret. Delta is moving all owned regional airlines HQ's to Minnesota to avoid a lawsuit by the state of Minnesota over NWA's headquarters remaining in Minnesota as part of the loan package given to NWA.

The same thing that happened to the Mesaba hangar. It will sit there. Chances are they will not turn off the lights and will wonder why they are still getting an electric bill for an empty building.

Look at the resources available to another airline here in CVG. There are multiple Hangars available, a General Office building available and a Simulator Facility. Oh, forgot to mention an ENTIRE CONCOURSE.

Can you buy an airline in a box. I believe you can. We'll just have to see what it consists of when the economy turns around.

Did you guys notice that the airport is redoing the roof of the Delta hangar just W of 18R? Did you also notice they took the Delta logo/name off the hanger?

I don't think Comair is the only one pulling completely out of CVG.

The reason they haven't made an announcement of the GO move is they don't want the locals to quit before they are ready to fire them. None of the locals will be willing to relocate (nor does Comair want to pay them to relocate) to MSP for a crappy sub $40k job. Only pilots and FAs are stupid enough to do that.

I wonder if Comair will be in CVG at all in the near future? Looks like HQ in MSP and operations in JFK.....crazy stuff.

I saw that. I also noticed though that they have repainted the north side of the hangar already, so I imagine they are just finishing up the rest of the building. You can see how bad the paint had faded on that building because even though they took the Delta sign down, you can still read Delta on the building from nearly a mile away.

Not redoing it, fixing it after a year of having a hole in it. It gut struck by lighting last summer. Delta sucks so bad though it took them a year to fix it.
