Man that really sucks for you guys if true. I hate to see aircraft leave one carrier and go to another. I wish you guys the best of luck and I hope if we get any of your aircraft I hope some of the pilots will come too. On another note I think those planes are going to be offered up for a 2 for 1 swap or 1 for1 swap for ya'll 700 and 900 for 200's.

Sad to hear all this but I jumped ship at Comair five years ago. The writing was on the wall back then. It's been a slow painful death. Good luck to everyone still there.

You need help. I would recommend to you to delete what you said. People/delta could take that as a threat.

Wouldn't it be awesome if a building collapsed and killed everyone at Delta!!! God I would love that!!! I really and truly would love that!!! F'n Scumbag C***s!!!!

In light of recent events, you're either a complete idiot or need serious help.

I imagine emotions are VERY high at Comair right now.

oh well...i know some mainline guys that probably said the same about comair back in the day. but really, I do feel bad for anyone affected by this-just thought his comment crossed the line.

To all of my Comair friends, I just spoke with a nameless source that had confirmed what we had all thought and suspected. I wanted to give all of you as much of a heads-up as possible. Comair will be making the announcement on July 31st. Their last day of operations will be September 30th.

The U.S. Marshals were briefed to disarm the Comair FFDO's to reduce the risk of one of them from potentially going postal.

I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I felt that if I were still at Comair, I would want to know this information as soon as possible in order to plan accordingly.

I wish the best of luck to all of you.

U.S. Marshall's? Why them, seems a bit out of the scope of their normal jurisdiction . ICE or one of the Law Enforcement Agencies that is under the jurisdiction of DHS. Something tells me that part is bogus with the rest of the post being factual.

Comair isn't the first airline to cease op's under the program and I don't recall hearing that those guys were disarmed.

He probably meant the FAMS, the FFDO program is under their jurisdiction.

Funny FFDO's are the least of our concern's. Another job seems to be the leading concern these days! Funny how the company that is currently chomping at the bit for our airplanes has lowered their minimums! You just hired SB one of our flunkies who ruined our training department!

Riddle me this why is Comair and other DCI carriers are covering the newest low bidder's flying on a regular basis? Heck we are covering flying for another DCI carrier as well! The new kid on the block is bad for the whole DCI system.

So sorry for the people affected by this rumor, if true. I'm sure Gen. Lee must be very happy that so many will lose their jobs.
IMHO most of the blame for this lies with the snobs over at DAL, and their equally snobbish, elitist, and so called professional pilot group.
Should any of the comair aircraft end up at Go-Jets, I think I may vomit all over my computer. I know that a number of CMR birds went to ASA, but look where they eventually ended up - at the aforementioned scumbag airline, Go-Jets, the one that really needs to go away. Hopefully that will happen sooner rather than later!
Maybe there will be a rescue package worked out for a sale, or merger, but who can buy, except maybe Skywest?
DAL certainly doesn't care as long as the financial bottom line suits them, and now they will tramp all over those who worked so hard to provide feed over several decades.
Hold your heads up high when you meet the next DAL pilot in the terminal as he passes you by looking at his shoes, because one of these days he will trip and fall flat on his face.

Best wishes to all, whatever happens!

Start barfing now, because not only are some Comair aircraft already at GoJets, they are being flown by some former Comair pilots for half the pay.

Of course they will. And I don't think it's anything personal against a regional group, it's just business. The bottom dollar. Sorry, but the regional industry was never meant to support a cost structure of a super senior pilot group. Newer regionals will pop up (like Compass and GoJets) that have far lower seniority and far lower costs to do the same thing other regionals are doing: flying RJs across the country.

The blame lies with DAL management. The pilot bashing, on both sides, has nothing to do with the demise of Comair.

Exactly. With what is about to go down at Comair, maybe it's time for pilots on both sides of this decade long pissing contest to simply let it go. Mistakes made in the past should stay in the past. The fact of the matter is that a bunch of people are about to lose their livelihoods and face severe difficulties as a result of mismanagement, and that is not something that should be celebrated by any other pilot group(s).

Put another way, everyone grow the f### up.

Precisely.

I don't think some folks believe how much of a business decision Comairs future really is. When Delta bought the airline I'm sure it was because some DAL CEO thought it would be good to have control of a major contractor. What has happened in he interm means zero to a guy like RA now as he is just about managing his costs an how to make DAL even more profitable. Now your in a situation with the TA requiring a reduction in 50 seat a/c and Comairs higher cost both in personal and future maintance requirements making harder to justify keeping Comair.

Comair only has 16 50 seaters (the oldest in the DCI fleet) that were ALREADY planned on being returned upon lease expirations over the next 3 yrs...regardless of whether the recent Delta pilot TA passed or not. So Comair's current situation has little if anything to do with the new Delta TA.

Comair's situation has much more to do with the fact that Comair is in contract negotiations with ALL THREE UNIONS (pilots, FAs and mechanics) simultaneously. All these threats are from the "Negotiations 101" play book. It amazes me how many people seem to forget this.

While Comair's future may not be all peaches n cream, the imminent death of Comair is highly exaggerated.

U think delta is just posturing to get what they want in your contract negotiations ?
