The company made a final offer, the negotiating committee rejected it, and now the MEC is putting it out for vote. This should be fun.

I am putting the over under at 85% to 15% voting NO. I wish all the comair folks the best because the only thing for certain is that this deal is going to suck. Just remember the Feb LOA before you vote.

I had just heard that the CEO told the pilots either take $17M in concessions by February or DAL will liquidate CMR. Pretty heavyhanded tactics.

Mesa here we go.

Doubtful. You can't just liquidate important feed in an instant. I wouldn't doubt that DAL would cancel some leases and pit Comair against Mesa or CHQ for growth. Anyone have better details about the most recent offer?

Personally I really do think Mesa is the way to go in the future regional industry. As for the company, they don’t want to pay the pilots; as for the pilots, they don’t want to be paid; as you can see this is really a win win situation for both the company and the pilots. How can the company not come up with such low operating cost? It's a tough choice for all you pilots out there, either make no money or don't have a flying job.

Possible. Unfortunately right now airlines want quantity, not quality. If MESA can give DAL what they want then there's no reason why Delta wouldn't sign them on. That's too bad...

Wrong. DAL wants lowers cost with "reliability and on time performance." Mesa has a problem with one of these.

Wrong! Delta wants to hire a hitman right now! They could care less about reliability and performance!
This will be just like what happened at the WO's at US Airways! The gun my boys will be held to your head, you really don't have much of a choice! With US Airways slowly pushing Mesa out the door they have many A/C to do some flying for Delta!
So with the gun pointed at your head you will have big Brother Delta saying sign it or else!
Yeaaaaa, and at that point I hope comair guys (not like us) grab that F-In gun and shove it up Delta's Arse and start firing as fast as possible!!!! And when your done, reload and continue!!!! We at the US Airways WO's pissed our pants when the gun was at our heads and signed on!

Good Luck, from someone that has been through this bs!!!

You might want to get a look at the agreement with Mesa. There are performance numbers that must be meet. DAL isn't going to sign a deal that wouldn't include protections for service.

LOL, your fooling yourself!! I am not saying that they don't have an agreement, what I am saying... listen please!!! They are a hired hitman to put pressure on you Comair folks to sign a new deal!! Comair had Leverage when they had there big strike, now with leases going back, contract carriers all over the place!!! Well, that leverage is almost all but gone!!
US Airways signed a deal to met performance also with mesa! One thing they did, was they (mesa) bragged about a 98% completion factor!! They get paid for every completed flight..... So they were running empty airplanes 4 hours late to get paid!! Talk about money out the widow!! US Airway finally caught on to this and other things!!
But Texx, I know you love Delta, you probably have nice Leather Jacket and all the accessories of a cool regional pilot... but what I am saying is Mesa is on the property with you guys, and it helps Mainline Delta neg. a new contract against Comair!!
This is what I believe, cause it happen to us!
Again Good Luck'

You may not be able to liquidate an important feed overnight, but there are several options. An excess of planes and pilots at mesa, an excess of pilots at Skywest, ASA activly looking for more flying. They transfer the needed planes to other airlines and work on efficiencies, and comair could be out. Be careful guys. Also, they closed DFW pretty quick, whose to say they cant do that at Cincinatti.

I can tell you right now without even looking at it, I will not only vote NO, I will vote HELL F'N NO!!!! I wish other pilot groups out there had backbones. This industry has gone from bad to worse because of all of you weaklings that are just happy to fly a jet. Thanks to all of you...you know who you are!

Before you start pointing fingers there Slick, how about looking at the pay cut you guys voted on for growth. That didn't look like a whole lot of backbone. You can call it a pay freeze if it helps you sleep better but it's a pay cut. And if I remember correctly, it passed pretty easily.

In all seriousness, I hope you guys are able to negotiate something close to what you deserve but let's not throw stones.

Homer Jay, you are absolutely right! I made $34,000 this year at what is supposed to be one of the highest paying regionals. I am ashamed that our wages are this low. The only thing I will vote for is a raise. I would rather see the company go out of business than see a penny of my frozen sh#t pay taken from me.

The problem is that I believe the senior pilots that make a comfortable living will sell out the junior guys to preserve most of their pay and job security. As for myself, I can make more money doing just about anything else including waiting tables.

Quite a few of the mid-seniority captains were pay-for-training folks back in the mid-to-late 90s.

I agree that those pilots in particular will sell out the junior pilots to preserve their $10,000 investments.

You do not know me and loving DAL and having a leather jacket has nothing to do with it.

Great, it happened to you and you think everyone else is walking around with their heads in the ground?

Being a methodical thinker and staying focused on the future is the key.

Also, once again, look at the DAL and Mesa deal about the performance numbers.

Excellent post. You Comair guys whine and complain about other regionals selling themselves out to fly jets, yet your pay freeze for "possible" growth has got to be the biggest sell-out I've witnessed at the regionals in the 3 years I've been here. Think before you post about other regionals "selling themselves out."

I honestly do hope everything works out for you guys but come on.

Tex, It doesnt matter about the performance deal in the contract !!!! Get that thru your head!!! Its about cost!!! Yea, there will be a contract with mesa and delta, but before they are kicked off the delta property they will have done what they were put there to do!!! Under Cut you guys, and make you bring your cost down........ at the expense of some crappy service for a year or too!!
Wake up brother!!! Don't you understand what I am trying to tell you!!!!????
That is your future, has nothing to do with lookin forward to it!! Its gonna happen, and I am sorry!!! Like I said early you have two choices, you do it. Or you take the gun away from Delta and call there bluff!!!!

Good Luck

What about Flying the 70 seat for the same as the 50 seatat Skywest? Oh wait that was supposed to only last 18 months? Then the company made it permanent? At least Comair got it in writing

First you talk sh$t and then you wanna say I hope it all works out! You need to figure out which side your on! Number 1 You don't know what your talking about! Comair guys fought harder then any pilot group to raise the bar for regional pilots! Your flying around in a EMB170 at 32 bucks or less an hour! I don't think you need to come hear and talk about whining. Look at yourself in the mirror. Come on, its gotta stop!! Even Mesa CJ-900 pay is crazy!! First year on a 86 seater 21.00 bucks and tops out at 36.00. Our 5 year fo's at piedmont flying a wore out Dash 8 make more money!

Good luck Comair!

I guess you work for Republic!!! Nice pay scales there!!

Kind of ironic that a regional that was used to outsource Delta jobs to save money will get outsourced themselves. The big race to the bottom is picking up speed.

Fortunately for Comair pilots, the pay freeze delayed the hundreds (perhaps thousands?) of furloughs that we were faced with last winter. The big question now is will the other pilot groups so quick to point fingers at Comair refuse to fly Comair's old aircraft after the pilot group votes this offer down? Remember that the only reason you'll be getting these is because you're cheaper than Comair.

That's why Comair did so much hiring while DAL was furloughing. Did you guys refuse to grow to protect those higher paying jobs? Like I said welcome to the race.

Yeh, all those high paying jobs running pax between mco and eyw or rsw or tlh or pbi or etc etc.
Yeh, your right, we should just deal with it, what were we thinking.
Retard

Everyone is cheaper than Comair, just like everyone WAS cheaper than Delta until we tanked and gave it away. It is tough when you get to the top of the mountain and then FALL DOWN. It really suk$.

Your fixation on guns makes me wonder if your unstable. I don't know which airline that you think I fly for but you need to worry about your own house before you come into mine.
