A couple days have passed since someone asked the same questions about Colgan.

To prevent CRQS (Colgan Repetitive Question Syndrome) addicted readers from experiencing withdrawl, I am providing a valuable service free of charge.

What are the hiring plans at Colgan?
QOL?
Upgrade?
What are their mins?
Pay?
What are their bases?
When are the Saab 2000's coming?

Feel better? Good.

You're welcome.

Do they make street captains sign a training contract?

Yes, everyone signs them when they start. Whether or not they're taking street capts at this time, I don't know. My guess with the continental thing upcoming, they probably are, or soon will be.

Is it a 1 year contract?

From 2000 (when I got there) through mid-2004 (when I left) it was a 1 year contract. If you leave early, reduced proportionally.

How is their training structured?

I knw it's a poor question, I just haven't been through any 121 training.

Hobit, hard question to answer.

When I went through initial in 2000 it was a joke. Upgrade later in 2000, still a joke. I'm sure (or I'm guessing) things have improved in initial training. Most 121 operators pretty much tell you what you need to study to get prepared for the tests, it's up to the individual to do it.

Colgan News Update!!!

Feb 17...

Colgan just made a deal to purchase 10 soon to be ex- Chicago Express Saabs. Most of those Saabs are going to Texas with 5 other deliveries coming soon from Eagle, that's 15 total. 2 Saabs were temporarily moved from USAirways to get painted in CAL colors. 2 Saabs painted in the Captain America colors will be used as spares up North til 3 others are painted in USAir colors by April then another 2 will be painted in USAir colors and be up North on line by mid May just in time for ACK-HYA-MVY Season.

First 2 Continental Saabs will be in ready next week and in Texas doing proving runs. Remaining 8 Saabs will be in Texas by June.

Now hiring for 200+ new hire pilots and NOW Saab Street Captains!
Most of the Street Captains on Saab are coming from Windy City.

Will know more about 50 seat prospects in March.
