To get this on track to the original question....

The q's should be there in Jan...I have heard the destinations are like.....Toronto, Hartford, Providence, Myrtle Beach, Manchester NH, Albany NY....

And to go to the other issue on hand...guys this is the USA...a fair vote went out...the union lost....deal with it...if it is a bad year maybe the union will come in next year...at like 100% and be even stronger than if it passed by a few votes.....don't cry like babies or act like you lost the student council in high school...use these times to point out to the "155" why it is important to have a union. Try hard to be mature and act like proffesionals.

And everyone who did not vote was a no vote..people knew that...CJC management pointed that out...so don't say the guys who did not vote did not care...they knew what they were doing by not voting.

I appreciate where you are coming from with this and you are correct the union movement failed. However, if I were on the OC I would think I would have a small axe to grind with the "155." The reason is that a strong majority of folks sent in their cards voicing their interest/approval of the organizing movement. When the vote came around many of these same folks that ran their mouths in crew rooms saying how things needed to changed didn't have the gumption to follow through with their beliefs.

I don't have a problem with someone who doesn't share the same opinions as me. I do however take offense to folks who talk from both sides of their mouths.

As for comparing the NMB election to a democratic process thats like comparing a bicycle to a lawn mower. FYI Al Gore (and for the record I hate Al Gore) should have been president. This election is flawed and far from democratic. If all the "no votes" for registered voters were for the encumbent party in our national elections we would have probably not seen a party change since WWII.

Go F' yourself and get a clue, half of us voted for Alpa. Just because it was voted down this time and I do mean this time dose not make all the pilots scabs at Colgan. Look up the word and shutup.

Agreed. Don't worry I'm not looking to deny jumpseats or anything. I just can't understand for the life of me why they wouldn't unionize.

Two reasons.

1. Senior dudes who think nothing is going to change and want to keep their "home every night" lifestyle. (It is kinda hard to give up.)

2. Junior FO's who are apathetic to the issue because they haven't been here long enough to know any better.

Only time will tell if these folks were right. I'm not a Colgan basher (they are good people trying to run a business) but I have my concerns about the looming changes from the forthcoming expansions and the management change.

VV

IMHO ALPA would have made life easier on both sides of the table and would have made the airline more attractive to potential new hires.

I would take the job foR a while if they would pay me the 15 year rate for captain on the Q-400. It would still be a paycut plus an EWR base, PLEEEEZE.
