You know, the way the completely clueless a$$wipe media idiots write the stories, the average John Q. Public is going to understand that this was a SINGLE PILOTED airplane. "The pilot, flight attendant, and a passenger were killed". Sounds like something Miles (oh by the way I am an idiot) O Brien from CNN would say on the air....

MONTROSE, Colo. - A corporate jet taking off from near a ski area crashed through a fence and burst into flames Sunday, killing three of the six people on board and seriously injuring two others.

The pilot, flight attendant and one passenger died in the crash at Montrose Regional Airport, which serves the Telluride Ski Area, said Allen Kenitzer, regional Federal Aviation Administration spokesman.

Two other passengers suffered life-threatening injuries. The sixth person listed on the plane's manifest had not been found.

There was snow in the area but Kenitzer said he did not know if it was a factor.

The plane was on its way to South Bend, Ind. Kenitzer identified it as a CL-60 Challenger owned and operated by Global Aviation of Los Angeles, a charter service company.

Investigators from the FAA and National Safety Transportation Board were en route to the airport, 185 miles southwest of Denver.

Well, we'll find out soon enough what the cause was. Perhaps a contaminated runway; here is the weather for 1259Z to 1626Z at KMTJ today:

(The weather appeared to changing rapidly as the automated station put out new weather 22 times in about 3.5 hours. According to the station, it snowed continously through the time period and never got above the melting point.)

MONTROSE, Colo. (AP) - A corporate jet taking off from near a ski area crashed through a fence and burst into flames Sunday, killing at least two of the six people on board and seriously injuring three others.

Sheriff's officials said two people were dead, but a Federal Aviation Administration spokesman said three had died in the crash at Montrose Regional Airport, which serves the Telluride Ski Area.

A sixth person listed on the plane's manifest had not been found. Authorities were searching for the missing person in rugged terrain by helicopter and on the ground.

There was snow in the area but regional FAA spokesman Allen Kenitzer said he did not know if it was a factor.

The plane was on its way to South Bend, Ind. Kenitzer identified it as a CL-601 Challenger registered to Jet Alliance of Millville, N.J.

A spokesperson at Jet Alliance said she had no information about the crash. Investigators from the FAA and National Safety Transportation Board were en route to the airport, 185 miles southwest of Denver.
